Balch Springs Logo Design

Virtually every new Balch Springs business knows they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely recognize the pivotal role their logo design can take in their success, or exactly why one logo design works far better than another. A logo has an instant and sustaining effect on the success of a company, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Balch Springs companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Balch Springs coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an old part of town and wanted to cast an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs by creating a logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria developed for Balch Springs medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that deals with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recollect where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family fun facility in Balch Springs.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - designed for Balch Springs traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather reveal emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Balch Springs logo but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Balch Springs logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral point of views on the value of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo understand how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of obstacles, but the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Balch Springs book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most critical part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person views in the book store. Concerning a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Balch Springs logo design made use of for advertising and marketing and also a label layout for Vintage Situation features an old typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this business logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Balch Springs, layout include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it appears that virtually every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which related a feeling of serenity and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious direction of creating just a stylized orchid but rather created a logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is oftentimes the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo design for a software program programmer the layout functions and iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell off their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Balch Springs logo dsign utilizing an image which seizes the attention of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t really composed for an Balch Springs area farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of multiple that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to make an identity that projects assurance, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo developed for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is reminiscent of a popular sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the business owner to develop a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
