POINTERS ON CHOOSING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design company presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can’t reimburse the time you commit which is eminently more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many design firms talk a good game but in the end a design agency can only be evaluated from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio does not contain real life examples odds are they won’t be able to deliver a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to echo your personal vision for your organization. If a designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how fast they can get paid.

Bay City LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds grow notable brands. We’ve performed brand design work for mechanics, educational institutions, diamond miners, wedding singers, coffee roasters, retailers, and practically every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes ImageCo unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every branding project as though it will be employed as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first method our logo designs can, and have been utilized in everything from clothing labels to billboards. Our sign first method guarantees that our logos are just as effective whether they are used in television commercials or website applications, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered regardless of size or function.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which seriously sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you might possibly have come across in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are hired to perform, we do in-house. No matter the kind of design project we accept, business logo, website design, trade show booth, or electric sign, we do not, and never will contract out our client’s projects to 3rd parties based outside the US. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that increases the cost of your design project and determines the conditions of how you and I do business.

QUALITIES OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Bay City organization understands that they require a logo, but few start ups entirely comprehend the pivotal role their business logo will play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo works far better than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining impact on the success of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Bay City businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require deliberation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to retail signs a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be timeless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

understanding branding

Brand – It is a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark and the process of marking something to make sure that it could be identified, its origin originates from the brand burned onto livestock. Today a brand indicates basically anything with an objective, whether it be revenue or government agencies, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the value of a specific thing in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s sexy sister, they are both from the exact same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition directed at a specific audience, it’s objective is to create an image that the audience will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When someone says the brand names Porsche or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and that is what makes people purchase those brands. Brand image is why individuals buy specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Agencies – If you look back at the beginning of many branding agencies you’ll find that they are quite often rebranded advertising and marketing companies. When someone states they are in advertising many people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. But when somebody states “I am in branding”… it just seems much more impressive, probably it’s because the majority of people don’t fully understand what it suggests to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that explains the visual components of a product or company that influence view points. This primarily consists of the name, the logo, the product packaging, the colors used but can likewise include audio, illumination, texture, signs, really anything that can be seen, touched or heard become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that focuses on a type of visual design which helps shape the public image of a company, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers create logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and brochures. Some visual designers also design websites and software interfaces. The important duty of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the objective of influencing actions, outcomes and also perceptions.

select SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Bay City coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an older part of the area and wanted to project an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both tasks by designing a trademark concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and also bacteria made for Bay City clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which deals with the clinical assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog designed for a family members enjoyable facility in Bay City.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Bay City travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Bay City logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Bay City logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral judgements on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo recognize how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s portion of hurdles, however the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Bay City publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, however it is the most crucial part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it looks like that in many cases one of the traits people often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Bay City logo layout used for advertising and a label style for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Bay City, style include an arc with lines converging through it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a Bay City hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which projected a feeling of ease and class for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a business logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the importance on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian equine logo layout produced for an equine ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a unique organization logo concept customized to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. By having a different head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately identifiable equine breeds in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Bay City Coffee shop logo design a little restaurant, layout contains a modified manuscript font style which hovers over a team of ornate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a tiny dining establishment, layout consists of a modified manuscript font which floats over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software developer the layout features and also renowned Bay City component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Progress logo style produced for a Bay Cityinterior developer, layout attribute a series of red circles that converge and change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Bay City interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is an individual who prepares, investigates, collaborates, and oversees such projects. Interior design is a diverse occupation that involves conceptual development, area planning, site assessments, programming, research study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Bay City, the characters for letter V and also A in middle of words advanced have been changed to link straight into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Bay City logo design project was carried out for a leadership guide that enables business professionals to become more effective at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Bay City business logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to market their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Bay City logo design using an image which captures the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Bay City company logo layout has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t really created for an Bay City regional farm it was in reality designed for a products broker, and this particular logo design was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to make a brand mark that projects self-confidence, effectiveness, and prosperity.

Bay City Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout feature for externally dealing with arrowhead as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the freedom to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without recognizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo designed for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is evocative a popular Bay City sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked closely with the business owner to develop a business logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
