Baytown, Texas Logo Design

Nearly every new Baytown organization understands that they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully understand the pivotal role their logo can perform in their success, or precisely why one logo performs more effectively than another. A logo has an immediate and long-term influence on the prosperity of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a business.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Baytown, Texas businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand scrutiny, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Baytown, Texas coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an older section of the area and hoped to project an old-fashioned atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by means of designing a logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria created for Baytown, Texas clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recollect where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun center in Baytown, Texas.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Baytown, Texas travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather project emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Baytown logo but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Baytown logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get objective assessments on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo comprehend how important a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s share of hurdles, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Baytown, Texas book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most vital part of a published book considering that it is usually the initial thing a person views in the book shop. For a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever have to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it looks like that in many instances 1 of the things people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to confering a spirit of air travel and it was surely a victory.

Baytown logo design used for advertising as well as a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an archaic font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Baytown, Texas, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging logo design projects because it seems that virtually every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which conveyed a sense of ease and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious direction of designing merely a stylized orchid but rather created a logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is in most cases the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the importance on the perception that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software program designer the style functions and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to market their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Baytown logo design dsign utilizing an image that captures the interest of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really composed for an Baytown, Texas area farm it was actually developed for a products broker, and this particular creative logo was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to make a graphic that projected self-assurance, success, and opulence.

Baytown Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo layout function for ostensibly encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo design made for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to create a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
