TIPS FOR IDENTIFYING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can not refund the time you invest which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but in the end a designer can only be determined by the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain actual examples chances are they will never be able to produce a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be understood and remembered, and it’s objective is to mirror your personal vision for your business. If a designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how fast they can get paid.

Burleson LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping small business owners establish memorable brand identities. We have done brand design work for builders, universities, diamond miners, wedding singers, cafes, retail stores, and practically every other kind of business you can think of. What makes us different compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every design as if it will be utilized as an electric sign. Because of our sign first method our brand identity designs can, and have been used in everything from fashion labels to neon signs. Our sign first approach guarantees that our logo designs are equally effective whether they are used in television commercials or website applications, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered regardless of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design companies that you may have stumbled upon online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are brought on board to do, we do in-house. Regardless of the kind of project we take on, logo design, business website, trade show exhibition, or retail sign, we do not, and never will job out our customer’s projects to agencies located outside the USA. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that marks up the cost of your project and imposes the conditions of how we do business.

ASPECTS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Burleson company realizes that they require a logo, yet few start ups entirely recognize the vital role their logo will perform in their becoming successful, or exactly why one business logo performs more effectively than another. A logo has an instant and long term influence on the growth of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Burleson businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t need consideration, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to retail signs a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is both a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the act of denoting something to ensure that it could be recognized, its foundation comes from the brand branded onto animals. Today a brand represents basically anything with an intention, regardless of whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the worth of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s sexy cousin, they are each from the exact same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest directed at a target audience, it’s goal is to develop an image that the audience can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When somebody mentions the names Ferrari or Mustang what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals buy those brands. Brand image is why individuals acquire most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the beginning of most branding agencies you’ll find that they are frequently re-branded advertising and marketing companies. When someone states they are in advertising the majority of people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a designer that specializes in a kind of visual design which helps shape the public image of a firm, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and also collateral products such as business cards, stationery, and also sales brochures. Some visual designers also build websites as well as user interfaces. The necessary function of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the objective of affecting activities, results and also perceptions.

select logos & signs

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Burleson coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an older part of the town and really wanted to visualize a retro feel without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by developing a logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs made for Burleson medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping green frog created for a family members enjoyable facility in Burleson.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - made for Burleson traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Burleson logo design but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Burleson logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased point of views on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their company so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of hurdles, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Burleson publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most necessary part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems that in many occurrences one of the things consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of airline flight and it was surely a success.

Burleson logo layout used for marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this business logo design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Burleson, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging logo jobs because it seems that virtually every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a Burleson hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that conveyed a sense of relaxation and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious course of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a business logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is in most cases the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian steed logo style produced for a horse ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed an original organization logo concept styled to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. By having an unique head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily recognizable equine types in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Burleson restaurant logo design a little restaurant, style consists of a customized script font which hovers above a team of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a little restaurant, layout contains a changed manuscript font style which floats over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Logo style for a software application programmer the style attributes and legendary Burleson component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the significance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

Develop logo style produced for a Burlesoninterior developer, design feature a collection of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Burleson interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is an individual who arranges, investigates, coordinates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a diverse profession that involves conceptual development, area planning, site evaluations, programming, research, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo style done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Burleson, the characters for letter V as well as A in middle of words progressed have been changed to connect directly into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Burleson logo design project was completed for a management advisor that aids business leaders to develop into more successful at supervising people, expectations, and productivity.

A Burleson business logo layout including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell off their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Burleson business logo design along with a graphic which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo design MQ farms, this Burleson company logo design has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually developed for an Burleson regional farm it was in reality created for an investments broker, and this particular logo was one of many which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to generate an identity that projected trust, effectiveness, and luxury.

Burleson Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for externally facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the flexibility to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo made for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is similar to a famous Burleson sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked closely with the proprietor to create a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
