Carrollton, Texas Logo Design

Nearly every new Carrollton business knows they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly recognize the vital role their business logo can perform in their financial success, or exactly why one business logo functions far better than another. A business logo has an instant and lasting effect on the prosperity of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Carrollton, Texas businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Carrollton, Texas coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were launching in an old section of town and wanted to visualize a vintage tone without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by developing a business logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as bacteria developed for Carrollton, Texas clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a household fun facility in Carrollton, Texas.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - made for Carrollton, Texas traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Carrollton logo design but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Carrollton logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to share it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get objective viewpoints on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo understand how important a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of difficulties, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Carrollton, Texas publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most critical part of a printed book since it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems that in many instances one of the items individuals usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to confering a sense of flight and it was certainly a victory.

Carrollton logo design used for advertising and also a label style for Vintage Situation features an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this business logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Carrollton, Texas, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects because it seems that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually enjoy doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo that projected an atmosphere of contentment and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of crafting simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo design that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is usually the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the attention on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo style for a software designer the design features and also renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to market their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Carrollton business logo dsign along with an illustration that seizes the attention of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t actually created for an Carrollton, Texas area farm it was actually developed for a commodities broker, and this particular logo was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to create a brand mark that projects self-confidence, success, and prosperity.

Carrollton Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly facing arrow and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the first try.

Logo made for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is similar to a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo design that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
