STRATEGIES ON PICKING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they can’t refund the time you invest which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but ultimately a design firm can only be evaluated from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t feature actual samples chances are they will never be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to mirror your personal vision for your company. If a logo designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Colleyville LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs grow memorable brand identities. We have undertaken logo design work for farmers, educational institutions, heart surgeons, wedding singers, restaurants, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business you can imagine. What makes us unique compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every logo design project as though it will be utilized as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first technique our brand identity designs can, and have been used in everything from fashion labels to neon signs. Our sign first technique ensures that our logo designs are just as successful whether they are used in TV commercials or website apps, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and remembered regardless of size or use.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that truly sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you might have encountered on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are hired to perform, we do ourselves. No matter the type of project we take on, brand identity design, web site, trade show exhibition, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job-out our customer’s work to agencies located outside the USA. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that increases the cost of your design project and determines the terms of how my customers and I do business.

QUALITIES OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Colleyville organization understands that they need a logo, however few start ups thoroughly grasp the pivotal role their organization’s logo can make in their success, or the reason that one business logo functions far better than another. A logo design has an immediate and sustaining impact on the success of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Colleyville businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t need scrutiny, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to billboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark and the process of noting something so that it could be distinguished, its foundation comes from the mark burned onto animals. Today a brand symbolizes pretty much anything with an intention, regardless of whether it be revenue or politics, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s sexy cousin, they are both from the same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition directed at a target market, it’s objective is to develop a mental image that the audience will likely identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and identity design. When somebody states the brand names Lamborghini or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people buy those products. Brand image is why individuals identify with most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the beginning of many branding companies you’ll discover that they are quite often re-branded advertising companies. When someone claims they are in advertising many people will likely have an idea about what they do. However when somebody states “I’m in branding”… it just sounds much more impressive, maybe it’s since most people don’t know what it implies to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and maybe even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that describes the visual components of a product or agency that affect understandings. This mainly includes the name, the logo design, the product packaging, the colors used but can also consist of sound, lighting, texture, signage, just about anything that can be seen, touched or listened to are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that focuses on a type of visual design which helps shape the public image of a company, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and collateral products such as cards, stationery, and sales brochures. Some visual designers also build web sites and also software interfaces. The necessary duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and a psychological tone with the goal of affecting activities, results and also assumptions.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Colleyville coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening up in an older section of the town and hoped to visualize a vintage feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs by means of developing a business logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and germs developed for Colleyville medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members enjoyable center in Colleyville.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Colleyville travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Colleyville logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Colleyville logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design understand how vital a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of challenges, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Colleyville publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a published book given that it is often the primary thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it looks like that in many instances 1 of the things folks usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a good sense of flight and it was surely a victory.

Colleyville logo design used for marketing and a label design for Vintage Instance features an archaic font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this business logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Colleyville, design include an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that every single dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dentists do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a Colleyville hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that carried a sense of serenity and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of creating simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a business logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is oftentimes the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo style produced for a horse ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted an original brand concept fashioned to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. With an identifiable head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most quite easily identifiable equine lineages in the world.

Las Cafe, A Colleyville Coffee shop logo design a small restaurant, style includes a customized manuscript typeface which floats over a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a tiny restaurant, design contains a customized manuscript font which floats over a group of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software application programmer the style attributes as well as legendary Colleyville component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a logo design is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Develop logo style created for a Colleyvilleinterior developer, layout feature a series of red circles that intersect as well as change the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Colleyville interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who plans, explores, coordinates, and oversees such ventures. logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Colleyville, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of the word advanced have been customized to link straight right into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Colleyville logo design job was performed for a leadership specialist that enables business professionals to develop into more successful at supervising people, expectations, and productivity.

A Colleyville business logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Colleyville business logo design with an illustration which pulls in the interest of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this Colleyville company logo style has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t really created for an Colleyville regional farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this logo was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to design a graphic that projected assurance, effectiveness, and prosperity.

Colleyville Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style function for externally facing arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo made for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is evocative a popular Colleyville sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the owner to design a logo design which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
