STRATEGIES FOR CHOOSING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can’t reimburse the amount of time you commit which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but in the end a designer can only be determined by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t contain real world samples odds are they will never be able to produce a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be understood and remembered, and it’s objective is to reflect your unique vision for your business. If a logo designer is not focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they can get paid.

Conroe LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds develop notable brand identities. We’ve done brand design work for builders, schools, diamond miners, party planners, diners, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes us unique compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every logo design project as though it will be utilized as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first technique our designs can, and have been employed in everything from fashion labels to electrical signs. Our sign first method guarantees that our logo designs are equally reliable whether they are used in television commercials or web apps, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and remembered regardless of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you might possibly have stumbled upon in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are retained to do, we perform in-house. Irrespective of the type of design project we undertake, logo, website design, trade show exhibition, or retail sign, we do not, and never will contract out our customer’s work to 3rd parties based outside the USA. Whenever you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that marks up the cost of your project and imposes the conditions of how my customers and I do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Conroe company knows they need a logo, however few start ups fully realize the vital role their business logo can play in their success, or exactly why one business logo performs far better than another. A business logo has an instant and lasting influence on the prosperity of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Conroe companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require contemplation, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to store signs a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be ageless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

understanding branding

Brand – It is a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark and the act of marking something to ensure that it could be identified, its foundation comes from the mark burned onto livestock. These days a brand symbolizes practically anything with an intention, whether it be earnings or politics, a brand is an inherent aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are all from the exact same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition aimed at a target audience, it’s goal is to create a mental image that the audience will connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When someone says the brand names Ferrari or Corvette what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes people want those products. Brand image is why individuals acquire specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you reflect on the beginning of the majority of branding agencies you’ll discover that they are quite often re-branded marketing and advertising firms. When somebody says they are in advertising most individuals will likely have an idea about what they do. But when a person says “I’m in branding”… it simply sounds much more impressive, perhaps it’s since most people do not recognize what it suggests to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and maybe even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that describes the visual elements of a product or company that affect view points. This largely consists of the name, the logo design, the product packaging, the different colors used however can likewise include audio, lights, texture, signs, really anything that can be seen, touched or heard become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that focuses on a type of visual design that helps shape the perception of a company, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, as well as collateral products such as cards, stationery, and brochures. Some identity designers also design websites and also software interfaces. The vital function of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the goal of affecting activities, results as well as perceptions.

select signs/logos

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Conroe coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an older part of town and wished to visualize an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks via developing a logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and also bacteria developed for Conroe clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the clinical assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family enjoyable center in Conroe.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - made for Conroe traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Conroe logo but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Conroe logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo recognize how crucial a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of challenges, however the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Conroe book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most essential part of a published book since it is usually the primary thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the traits individuals often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a spirit of air travel and it was definitely a winner.

Conroe logo layout used for advertising as well as a label style for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this brand concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Conroe, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs because it seems that every single dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a Conroe hair style studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design which related a spirit of relaxation and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious path of designing just a stylized orchid but rather created a logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is oftentimes the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian horse logo style created for a horse ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a unique organization logo design fashioned to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. With an unique head form and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly easily recognizable horse types in the world.

Las Cafe, A Conroe restaurant logo layout a small dining establishment, layout contains a customized manuscript typeface which hovers over a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a tiny restaurant, style includes a modified script font style which floats over a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software developer the design attributes as well as iconic Conroe component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

Progress logo layout produced for a Conroeinterior designer, design attribute a collection of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Conroe interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a professional who organizes, researches, coordinates, and oversees such projects. Interior design is a diverse occupation that includes conceptual development, area planning, location evaluations, programming, investigation, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Conroe, the personalities for letter V and also A in middle of the word progressed have been changed to link directly right into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Conroe logo design job was undertaken for a management guide that aids business professionals to become more successful at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A Conroe business logo layout including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell off their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Conroe business logo design with an illustration that pulls in the interest of vehicles and sends an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo style MQ ranches, this Conroe company logo design has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t actually created for an Conroe area farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this company logo was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to develop a graphic that projects esteem, effectiveness, and opulence.

Conroe Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design function for outwardly dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo design developed for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is evocative a renowned Conroe sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to design a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
