Del Rio Logo Design

Each and every new Del Rio organization knows they require a logo, yet few new business owners entirely comprehend the key role their logo can play in their becoming successful, or why one business logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and long term impact on the prosperity of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Del Rio companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Del Rio coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an older part of town and wanted to cast a nostalgic tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks by means of developing a sign concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs designed for Del Rio clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical evaluation of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and more memorable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family fun facility in Del Rio.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Del Rio traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Del Rio logo but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Del Rio logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his scorn for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get honest assessments on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how essential a logo design is for their business so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s share of hurdles, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Del Rio publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most vital part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the first thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the items consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a spirit of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

Del Rio logo style utilized for marketing and a label design for Vintage Situation features an archaic font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Del Rio, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo that related a feeling of peace and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious direction of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a company logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is frequently the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo layout for a software application designer the style attributes as well as iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Del Rio logo dsign using an image that garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t actually created for an Del Rio regional farm it was really developed for an investments broker, and this logo design was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to create a image that projects trust, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo developed for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the owner to produce a logo design that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
