Del Rio, Texas Logo Design

Virtually every new Del Rio business understands that they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly comprehend the essential role their logo will make in their success, or why one logo performs more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining influence on the growth of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Del Rio, Texas businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be timeless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Del Rio, Texas coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an older section of the town and wanted to visualize a nostalgic tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved each of the jobs by means of developing a trademark design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and also bacteria designed for Del Rio, Texas medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the laboratory assessment of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping green frog designed for a family fun facility in Del Rio, Texas.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Del Rio, Texas traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they often share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Del Rio logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Del Rio logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced viewpoints on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo design understand how important a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo project possesses it’s share of challenges, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Del Rio, Texas book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems like that in many cases 1 of the traits people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of airline flight and it was certainly a success.

Del Rio logo style used for advertising and a tag layout for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this brand concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Del Rio, Texas, style consist of an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that related a sense of ease and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of making just a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo design that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is usually the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the importance on the perception that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo layout for a software developer the style functions and also legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Del Rio business logo dsign utilizing an illustration that garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually developed for an Del Rio, Texas regional farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this particular logo design was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to create a graphic that projects trust, financial success, and wealth.

Del Rio Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design attribute for externally dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the opportunity to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without knowing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo made for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the owner to create a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
