STRATEGIES ON SELECTING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can not reimburse the time you commit which is eminently more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but ultimately a designer can only be evaluated by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio does not feature real life examples odds are they will not be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to mirror your unique vision for your organization. If a logo designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

El Paso LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping business owners cultivate unforgettable brands. We have done brand design work for builders, colleges, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee roasters, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes us unique compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every logo design project as though it will be employed as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first method our designs can, and have been utilized in everything from garment labels to billboards. Our sign first technique guarantees that our logo designs are equally reliable whether they are used in television commercials or web apps, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and remembered regardless of scale or function.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you might possibly have encountered in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are contracted to perform, we do ourselves. Irrespective of the kind of design project we accept, logo design, web page, trade show exhibition, or electric sign, we do not, and never will job-out our client’s projects to contractors located outside the United States. When you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that increases the cost of your project and determines the conditions of how we do business.

QUALITIES OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new El Paso business knows they probably need a logo, but few new business owners entirely comprehend the key role their organization’s logo will play in their success, or precisely why one logo design functions far better than another. A business logo has a critical and lasting effect on the success of a business, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help El Paso businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to billboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the product or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be ageless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

understanding branding

Brand – It is both a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the act of noting something to ensure that it could be identified, its origin comes from the mark branded onto livestock. These days a brand indicates pretty much anything with an objective, whether it be earnings or government agencies, a brand is an inherent aspect of defining the value of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy cousin, they are each from the very same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest targeted at a specific audience, it’s goal is to produce an image that the audience will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When somebody states the names Lamborghini or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people want those brands. Brand image is why individuals buy most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the beginning of most branding firms you’ll discover that they are often rebranded advertising and marketing agencies. When somebody says they are in advertising most people will likely have an idea about what they do. Yet when a person says “I’m in branding”… it simply seems much more impressive, possibly it’s since most people do not fully understand what it indicates to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and perhaps even attractive.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that explains the visual aspects of a product or agency that influence perceptions. This mainly includes the name, the logo design, the product packaging, the different colors utilized but can also consist of audio, illumination, texture, signs, just about anything that can be seen, felt or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a designer that concentrates on a kind of visual design which helps form the perception of a company, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers create logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and also collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and also pamphlets. Some visual designers also design web sites and user interfaces. The vital role of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and a psychological tone with the goal of affecting actions, outcomes and also assumptions.

select SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a El Paso coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an older part of the city and wished to project a vintage tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved the two tasks via designing a trademark design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and germs designed for El Paso clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which examines the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the clinical examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog created for a family enjoyable center in El Paso.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - created for El Paso travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather project emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they frequently share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  El Paso logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

El Paso logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get impartial point of views on the value of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their business logo realize how crucial a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of hurdles, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for El Paso book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most vital part of a printed book because it is often the first thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many instances 1 of the things people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was definitely a winner.

El Paso logo layout made use of for marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this brand design I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in El Paso, layout include an arc with lines converging through it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it appears that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a El Paso hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which related a spirit of simplicity and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of crafting simply a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo design which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian steed logo design produced for an equine cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a unique custom logo concept customized to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. By having a different head form and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most quite easily recognizable equine types in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A El Paso Coffee shop logo style a tiny restaurant, layout includes a customized script font style which hovers over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a little dining establishment, style contains a customized script font which hovers over a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo style for a software developer the style features and famous El Paso element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Evolve logo layout produced for a El Pasointerior developer, style function a collection of red circles that converge and change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a El Paso interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is someone who prepares, explores, collaborates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that consists of conceptual development, area planning, location evaluations, programming, investigation, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in El Paso, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of words advanced have been changed to tie directly right into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular El Paso logo design job was performed for a leadership advisor that helps business leaders to become more effective at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A El Paso business logo style including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to sell their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their El Paso business logo design with a graphic which pulls in the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo design MQ farms, this El Paso company logo design has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t really composed for an El Paso regional farm it was really developed for a products broker, and this brand was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to generate a brand mark that projects esteem, success, and prosperity.

El Paso Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo layout attribute for externally facing arrow and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the liberty to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo design developed for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is evocative a popular El Paso sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo design which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
