POINTERS FOR DETERMINING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design company offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can not reimburse the time you commit which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but ultimately a design firm can only be determined from the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio does not contain real world examples odds are they will not be able to produce a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to echo your unique vision for your organization. If a logo designer is not focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Farmers Branch LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs establish notable brands. We have performed branding work for farmers, educational institutions, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee shops, retailers, and just about every other kind of business you can imagine. What makes us different compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every logo design project as if it will be utilized as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first method our logo designs can, and have been utilized in everything from fashion labels to billboards. Our sign first method guarantees that our logo designs are equally successful whether they are used in television commercials or web apps, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and remembered irrespective of scale or use.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you might have stumbled upon on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are brought on board to perform, we do ourselves. Irrespective of the kind of design project we undertake, brand identity design, web page, trade show exhibition, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job out our customer’s work to companies based outside the US. When you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that increases the price of your project and determines the conditions of how we do business.

QUALITIES OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Farmers Branch business understands that they require a logo, however few new business owners entirely recognize the key role their logo will make in their becoming successful, or why one business logo performs more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and lasting impact on the prosperity of a business, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Farmers Branch companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to store signs a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the item or organization they brand.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be ageless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It is both a verb as well as a noun, it is an identifying mark and the act of denoting something so that it could be identified, its genesis comes from the brand burned onto livestock. Nowadays a brand signifies practically anything with an objective, whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the value of something in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are all from the same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition targeted at a specific audience, it’s objective is to create a mental image that the target market will connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured by advertising and marketing and identity design. When somebody mentions the names Porsche or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals want those products. Brand image is why individuals acquire most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the history of the majority of branding agencies you’ll find that they are quite often re-branded advertising companies. When someone claims they are in marketing many people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. But when somebody states “I’m in branding”… it just sounds much more attractive, perhaps it’s due to the fact that lots of people do not know what it suggests to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and perhaps even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that describes the visual aspects of a product or business that influence view points. This mostly consists of the name, the logo design, the packaging, the different colors used yet can also consist of sound, illumination, texture, signs, really anything that can be seen, touched or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a designer that focuses on a kind of visual design that helps form the image of a firm, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers create logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, and also collateral material such as business cards, stationery, as well as pamphlets. Some identity designers also build sites as well as software interfaces. The important duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and a psychological tone with the goal of affecting actions, results as well as understandings.

select logos & signs

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Farmers Branch coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older part of the area and hoped to project a retro tone without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs via developing a symbol concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria designed for Farmers Branch clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more focus grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a family fun center in Farmers Branch.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Farmers Branch travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Farmers Branch logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Farmers Branch logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get objective assessments on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo realize how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of challenges, but the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Farmers Branch book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most necessary part of a printed book since it is often the first thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it looks like that in many cases one of the things people usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was surely a success.

Farmers Branch logo design made use of for advertising and marketing and also a label design for Vintage Instance features an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Farmers Branch, style include an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it seems that every single dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design developed for a Farmers Branch hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that projected a spirit of simplicity and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept which did not go the obvious route of making simply a stylized orchid but rather created a logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is usually the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian horse logo style produced for a horse cattle ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a unique brand design fashioned to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. By having a different head form and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately identifiable horse breeds in the world.

Las Cafe, A Farmers Branch Coffee shop logo style a tiny restaurant, design includes a modified manuscript font style which hovers above a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a tiny dining establishment, design includes a modified script font which floats above a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software programmer the design attributes and iconic Farmers Branch element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

Develop logo layout produced for a Farmers Branchinterior developer, layout attribute a series of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Farmers Branch interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who organizes, explores, collaborates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a diverse occupation that consists of conceptual development, space planning, site evaluations, programming, study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo style done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Farmers Branch, the personalities for letter V and also A in center of the word advanced have been customized to link straight into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Farmers Branch logo design assignment was undertaken for a leadership expert that enables business leaders to become more effective at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A Farmers Branch business logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to market their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Farmers Branch business logo design with a graphic that grabs the interest of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this Farmers Branch company logo style has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really designed for an Farmers Branch regional farm it was actually developed for a products broker, and this creative logo was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to produce a brand mark that projected assurance, success, and wealth.

Farmers Branch Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design function for ostensibly dealing with arrowhead as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo developed for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is reminiscent of a well-known Farmers Branch sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to design a business logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
