TIPS ON CHOOSING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they simply cannot refund the amount of time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but in the end a design agency can only be judged by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio does not feature real world examples odds are they will not be able to produce a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to echo your personal vision for your organization. If a logo designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Flower Mound LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds establish memorable brands. We’ve done brand design work for farmers, colleges, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee shops, retailers, and just about every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes ImageCo unique compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every brand identity project as if it will be utilized as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first technique our logo designs can, and have been used in everything from fashion labels to neon signs. Our sign first technique ensures that our logos are equally effective whether they are used in TV commercials or website applications, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and always remembered regardless of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that truly sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you might possibly have found on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are hired to do, we do in-house. Irrespective of the type of project we take on, brand identity design, website design, trade show exhibition, or retail sign, we do not, and never will farm out our customer’s work to contractors based outside the USA. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that marks up the cost of your design project and determines the terms of how my customers and I do business.

QUALITIES OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Flower Mound business understands that they need a logo, however few start-ups fully understand the crucial role their logo design can perform in their financial success, or exactly why one business logo works far better than another. A business logo has an immediate and sustaining effect on the growth of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Flower Mound businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to posters a scalable logo design will remain legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the item or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be timeless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the act of noting something to make sure that it could be recognized, its origin originates from the brand branded onto livestock. These days a brand signifies pretty much anything with a motive, regardless of whether it be revenue or politics, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are all from the same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest directed at a specific audience, it’s goal is to produce an image that the audience will likely identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When someone states the names Lamborghini or Mustang what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals want those products. Brand image is why individuals acquire specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Agencies – If you reflect on the origin of the majority of branding firms you’ll find that they are frequently rebranded marketing and advertising agencies. When someone claims they are in marketing lots of people will likely have an idea about what they do. However when a person says “I am in branding”… it simply seems much more attractive, probably it’s because many people do not recognize what it indicates to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that describes the visual elements of a product or business that affect perceptions. This mainly includes the name, the logo, the packaging, the different colors used however can also include sound, illumination, texture, signage, really anything that can be seen, touched or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that specializes in a type of visual design which helps form the perception of a company, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, packaging, as well as collateral products such as cards, stationery, as well as pamphlets. Some visual designers also design websites and also user interfaces. The necessary role of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the goal of influencing actions, end results as well as assumptions.

select signs/logos

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Flower Mound coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually launching in an older part of the community and wanted to project a vintage vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both of these tasks by developing a business logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria created for Flower Mound clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the laboratory examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family enjoyable facility in Flower Mound.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Flower Mound travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead reveal emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Flower Mound logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Flower Mound logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo design recognize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo job has it’s portion of hurdles, but the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Flower Mound publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most crucial part of a published book because it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many instances one of the items people usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a feeling of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

Flower Mound logo style made use of for marketing and a label design for Vintage Case features an old font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Flower Mound, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects because it appears that almost every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout created for a Flower Mound hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that projected a spirit of tranquility and class for their new hair studio. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious route of creating merely a stylized orchid but rather created a business logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is more often than not the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian steed logo style produced for a horse ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created an original brand design tailored to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. By having a distinctive head shape and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily recognizable equine breeds in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Flower Mound restaurant logo layout a small restaurant, style contains a changed script font which hovers above a group of elaborate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a tiny restaurant, style includes a customized manuscript typeface which hovers over a group of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software designer the design functions and famous Flower Mound component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Develop logo design produced for a Flower Moundinterior developer, design function a collection of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the center of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Flower Mound interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is an individual who prepares, researches, collaborates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a diverse profession that involves conceptual development, space planning, location assessments, programming, analysis, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Flower Mound, the characters for letter V and also A in middle of words advanced have actually been modified to link directly into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Flower Mound logo design assignment was performed for a management guide that aids business professionals to become more effective at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Flower Mound business logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to sell their used products to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Flower Mound logo design utilizing a graphic which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Flower Mound company logo style has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually produced for an Flower Mound area farm it was in reality devised for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of a handful of which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to make a graphic that projected trust, success, and prosperity.

Flower Mound Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design attribute for outwardly encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo design created for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a renowned Flower Mound sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the proprietor to design a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
