Galveston Island Logo Design

Every new Galveston Island company knows they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully understand the key role their organization logo can play in their success, or exactly why one business logo performs far better than another. A business logo has a critical and long term effect on the prosperity of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Galveston Island companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Galveston Island coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older part of the town and wished to visualize a vintage vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs by means of designing a company logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria made for Galveston Island medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that works with the laboratory assessment of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a household enjoyable facility in Galveston Island.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Galveston Island travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the images they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Galveston Island logo but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Galveston Island logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his scorn for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced viewpoints on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo design comprehend how important a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of difficulties, but the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Galveston Island publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, however it really is the most vital part of a published book due to the fact that it is usually the primary thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many cases one of the things individuals usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a good sense of air travel and it was surely a victory.

Galveston Island logo layout made use of for advertising and a label style for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Galveston Island, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that each and every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo that projected a feeling of calmness and class for their new hair salon. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious course of creating merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is more often than not the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo layout for a software developer the style features and also legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Galveston Island logo dsign along with a graphic which garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has actually a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really developed for an Galveston Island area farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this company was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to make a brand mark that projected self-assurance, effectiveness, and wealth.
Logo design made for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is reminiscent of a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo design which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
