Hereford Logo Design

Every new Hereford organization knows they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly are aware of the essential role their logo design can take in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo works far better than another. A logo has an instant and long-term influence on the growth of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Hereford companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Hereford coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening in an old part of town and wanted to project a nostalgic feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by means of designing a custom logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs created for Hereford clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a family members fun facility in Hereford.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Hereford travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather project emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hereford logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Hereford logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his contempt for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get honest viewpoints on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo comprehend how essential a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of challenges, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Hereford publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most crucial part of a published book because it is often the very first thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems that in many instances 1 of the traits folks usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a good sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Hereford logo style used for marketing and a label style for Vintage Case includes an old font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for music instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Hereford, design include an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects because it seems that each and every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to explain specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which carried a spirit of simplicity and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious route of creating just a stylized orchid but instead delivered a company logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is more often than not the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their clients.

Logo style for a software programmer the style features as well as famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to market their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Hereford business logo dsign along with an illustration which garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually developed for an Hereford regional farm it was actually designed for an investments broker, and this particular company logo was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to make an identity that projects self-assurance, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo created for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
