Houston, Texas Logo Design

Each and every new Houston business professional realizes that they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly grasp the pivotal role their logo design will take in their becoming successful, or why one logo design performs far better than another. A business logo has an immediate and long-term effect on the viability of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Houston, Texas companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be timeless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Houston, Texas coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an older part of the community and wanted to visualize an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks via designing a company logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs made for Houston, Texas medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recollect where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family members fun center in Houston, Texas.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - developed for Houston, Texas traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don't Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead project emotional journeys through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable ┬áHouston logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Houston logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get honest point of views on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo design realize how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of challenges, but the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Houston, Texas book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most crucial part of a published book due to the fact that it is usually the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it looks like that in many occurrences one of the things individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a good sense of air travel and it was definitely a victory.

Houston logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing and also a tag layout for Vintage Situation includes an old typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Houston, Texas, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most difficult logo projects due to the fact that it seems that every single dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which conveyed a feeling of serenity and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious route of making just a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo design which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is generally the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software program designer the layout features and also renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the substance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

A logo style including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts.
I designed their Houston logo design dsign using a graphic which pulls in the interest of traffic and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the liberty to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design made for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a renowned sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a logo design that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
