TIPS ON SELECTING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design company presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they simply cannot reimburse the amount of time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but ultimately a designer can only be judged from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain real life examples odds are they will never be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and remembered, and it’s purpose is to mirror your unique vision for your business. If a designer is not focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Huntsville LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping small business owners cultivate memorable brands. We have undertaken brand identity design work for mechanics, colleges, diamond miners, party planners, cafes, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business you can imagine. What makes us unique compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every brand identity project as though it will be employed as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first technique our brand identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from clothing labels to electrical signs. Our sign first method guarantees that our logo designs are equally successful whether they are used in television commercials or website headers, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and remembered irrespective of size or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design companies that you might possibly have come across in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are hired to do, we perform ourselves. No matter the type of design project we undertake, business logo, website, trade show booth, or retail sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our client’s work to contractors located outside the US. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that marks up the price of your project and determines the terms of how we do business.

ASPECTS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Every new Huntsville organization knows they need a logo, yet few start-ups entirely grasp the pivotal role their business logo will perform in their success, or exactly why one business logo works far better than another. A logo design has a critical and long term influence on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Huntsville businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be lasting and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark and also the act of marking something so that it can be distinguished, its genesis originates from the mark branded onto animals. Nowadays a brand symbolizes virtually anything with an intention, regardless of whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of specifying the worth of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are all from the very same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest directed at a target market, it’s goal is to create an image that the target market can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody states the brand names Lamborghini or Mustang what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people purchase those products. Brand image is why people identify with most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Agencies – If you reflect on the origin of the majority of branding companies you’ll find that they are often re-branded marketing and advertising companies. When a person claims they are in advertising lots of people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. However when somebody claims “I’m in branding”… it simply seems more attractive, perhaps it’s because most people don’t recognize what it suggests to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that describes the visual components of a product or business that influence view points. This primarily consists of the name, the logo design, the packaging, the different colors utilized however can also consist of sound, illumination, texture, signs, actually anything that can be seen, touched or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that focuses on a type of visual design that helps shape the image of a firm, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and also collateral products such as business cards, stationery, as well as pamphlets. Some identity designers also design sites and also software interfaces. The necessary function of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the objective of affecting activities, outcomes as well as assumptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Huntsville coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually launching in an old part of town and really wanted to project an old-fashioned atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by developing a trademark concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and germs developed for Huntsville medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a household fun center in Huntsville.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - designed for Huntsville traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Huntsville logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Huntsville logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get neutral opinions on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo comprehend how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of hurdles, but the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Huntsville book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most critical part of a printed book because it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it looks like that in many instances 1 of the items folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Huntsville logo design made use of for advertising and marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Instance features an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Huntsville, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects considering that it seems that each and every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design developed for a Huntsville hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that projected a spirit of calmness and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious path of creating just a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is generally the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo layout developed for an equine ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a one-of-a-kind creative logo design tailored to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. By having an identifiable head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily identifiable horse lineages in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Huntsville restaurant logo layout a tiny dining establishment, layout includes a modified manuscript font which hovers over a team of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a tiny restaurant, layout consists of a changed script typeface which hovers above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software program developer the style functions and renowned Huntsville component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Evolve logo style created for a Huntsvilleinterior developer, style feature a collection of red circles that converge and change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Huntsville interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who plans, investigates, coordinates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a diverse occupation that includes conceptual development, space planning, location inspections, programming, study, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Huntsville, the characters for letter V and A in middle of words progressed have been customized to connect directly into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Huntsville logo design job was carried out for a leadership coach that assists business leaders to develop into more successful at managing people, expectations, and profitability.

A Huntsville business logo design including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Huntsville logo design utilizing an image that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this Huntsville company logo design has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually produced for an Huntsville area farm it was actually developed for a commodities broker, and this brand was one of a handful of which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to produce a graphic that projects confidence, financial success, and opulence.

Huntsville Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style feature for externally facing arrow and also the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the first try.

Logo designed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is evocative a famous Huntsville sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to design a logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
