Hurst Logo Design

Nearly every new Hurst venture understands that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully are aware of the vital role their logo design will play in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design functions more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and long-term impact on the prosperity of a company, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Hurst companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand deliberation, they can be realized in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Hurst coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an older section of the city and really wanted to project a vintage feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks by developing a custom logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and germs created for Hurst clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory examination of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a household fun center in Hurst.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Hurst travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hurst logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Hurst logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial opinions on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to create their business logo realize how crucial a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Hurst publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, but it is the most important part of a printed book considering that it is often the initial thing a person views in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems that in many occurrences one of the aspects consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was surely a winner.

Hurst logo design made use of for advertising and marketing and also a label layout for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Hurst, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which projected an atmosphere of serenity and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious course of making merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo design which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is oftentimes the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the attention on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian horse logo style produced for a horse ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a one-of-a-kind brand concept customized to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. By having a different head form and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily identifiable horse breeds in the world.

Logo style for a software program programmer the design functions as well as legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

Progress logo design produced for a Hurst indoor developer, layout function a collection of red circles that intersect and also replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Hurst logo design dsign using a graphic that garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t actually designed for an Hurst area farm it was actually devised for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to make a graphic that projects self-confidence, financial success, and luxury.
Logo design created for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is similar to a popular sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the proprietor to design a logo design that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
