TIPS FOR SELECTING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they can not refund the amount of time you commit which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but ultimately a designer can only be evaluated from the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain real life examples chances are they will not be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s purpose is to mirror your unique vision for your organization. If a logo designer isn’t focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Jollyville LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping small business owners cultivate unforgettable brands. We’ve done logo design work for ranchers, schools, diamond miners, party planners, coffee roasters, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes ImageCo unique compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every design as if it will be employed as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first method our brand identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from fashion labels to billboards. Our sign first method ensures that our logos are equally reliable whether they are used in television commercials or website applications, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and always remembered no matter of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

Something that really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you might possibly have encountered online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are contracted to perform, we do in-house. No matter the type of design project we take on, business logo, web site, trade show banners, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our client’s work to companies based outside the USA. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that marks up the cost of your project and determines the conditions of how my customers and I do business.

ASPECTS OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Jollyville organization understands that they need a logo, but few start ups fully comprehend the vital role their logo will perform in their becoming successful, or why one logo works better than another. A logo has an instant and lasting influence on the growth of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Jollyville companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t need deliberation, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to billboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the product or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be ageless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the act of denoting something to ensure that it can be recognized, its genesis comes from the mark branded onto animals. Nowadays a brand represents basically anything with a motive, whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an inherent aspect of specifying the worth of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s sexy sister, they are each from the very same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest directed at a target market, it’s goal is to create a mental image that the audience can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When someone mentions the names Ferrari or Corvette what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people buy those products. Brand image is why people identify with most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Agencies – If you look back at the history of a lot of branding agencies you’ll find that they are often rebranded marketing companies. When someone claims they are in advertising many people will likely have an idea about what they do. Yet when a person says “I am in branding”… it simply seems much more impressive, probably it’s because many people don’t understand what it implies to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and maybe even attractive.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that defines the visual elements of a product or business that affect view points. This primarily includes the name, the logo design, the packaging, the different colors utilized yet can additionally include audio, lighting, texture, signage, just about anything that can be seen, touched or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that focuses on a type of visual design which helps shape the public image of a firm, a product or a business. Brand identity designers create logo designs, signage designs, packaging, as well as collateral material such as cards, stationery, as well as sales brochures. Some identity designers also design web sites and also software interfaces. The essential function of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and a psychological tone with the objective of affecting activities, outcomes as well as understandings.

select signs/logos

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Jollyville coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were opening up in an older section of the area and really wanted to cast a retro feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both jobs via creating a company logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and germs developed for Jollyville clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable facility in Jollyville.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Jollyville travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather project emotional journeys through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Jollyville logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Jollyville logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo comprehend how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of hurdles, but the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Jollyville book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most essential part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the primary thing a person sees in the book shop. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many instances one of the things people often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a spirit of flight and it was surely a success.

Jollyville logo layout used for advertising and also a label style for Vintage Case features an old font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Jollyville, layout include an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that each and every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a Jollyville hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which projected a sense of relaxation and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious course of making just a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is frequently the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian horse logo layout produced for an equine cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a distinct brand design tailored to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of horses. With a distinctive head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately identifiable horse lineages in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Jollyville Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, design includes a customized manuscript font which hovers above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a little restaurant, layout consists of a changed manuscript font style which floats over a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software application designer the design functions and renowned Jollyville aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

Advance logo design developed for a Jollyvilleindoor developer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Jollyville interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is someone who plans, explores, collaborates, and oversees such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that involves conceptual development, space planning, location examinations, programming, investigation, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Jollyville, the personalities for letter V and A in middle of words advanced have been changed to tie straight right into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Jollyville logo design assignment was undertaken for a leadership coach that aids business professionals to become more successful at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A Jollyville business logo style including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to sell their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Jollyville logo design design utilizing an illustration which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Jollyville company logo style has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually developed for an Jollyville regional farm it was actually created for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to produce a brand mark that projects esteem, effectiveness, and wealth.

Jollyville Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design function for ostensibly dealing with arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the liberty to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo created for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is evocative a well-known Jollyville sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
