Lubbock Logo Design

Nearly every new Lubbock business understands that they require a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly recognize the essential role their company logo will take in their financial success, or precisely why one business logo works better than another. A company logo has an instant and long-term impact on the growth of a business, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Lubbock businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Lubbock coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually launching in an older part of town and hoped to visualize a vintage vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved both tasks via creating a sign design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as bacteria designed for Lubbock medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a family members enjoyable center in Lubbock.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Lubbock travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they often convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lubbock logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Lubbock logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the value of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their company so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s share of difficulties, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Lubbock book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most vital part of a printed book given that it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it seems like that in many occurrences one of the things consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was definitely a winner.

Lubbock logo layout used for advertising as well as a tag layout for Vintage Instance features an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Lubbock, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that almost every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that conveyed an atmosphere of calmness and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of making merely a stylized orchid but instead created a company logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the attention on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian horse logo layout developed for an equine ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program designer the layout functions and also renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Lubbock logo dsign with an image which garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Lubbock area farm it was actually developed for an investments broker, and this particular company logo was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to create a graphic that projected esteem, financial success, and opulence.
Logo design created for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the owner to create a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
