Murphy Logo Design

Nearly every new Murphy venture understands that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely are aware of the pivotal role their logo design will play in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo functions more effectively than another. A logo has an instant and sustaining impact on the prosperity of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Murphy companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Murphy coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an older part of the city and wanted to visualize a vintage atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs via developing a sign design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and germs made for Murphy clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical examination of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping green frog developed for a household fun facility in Murphy.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Murphy traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead project emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Murphy logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Murphy logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo design realize how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s share of difficulties, however the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Murphy book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a printed book given that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the book shop. Concerning a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many cases 1 of the items folks often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was definitely a winner.

Murphy logo design used for marketing and a label design for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this business logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Murphy, design include an arc with lines converging through it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that conveyed a spirit of ease and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious path of crafting merely a stylized orchid but instead created a business logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is in most cases the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software application designer the layout attributes and legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

Progress logo design created for a Murphy indoor developer, style attribute a series of red circles that converge and change the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the characters for letter V as well as A in middle of the word advanced have actually been modified to link directly right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Murphy logo design project was undertaken for a leadership specialist that helps business leaders to develop into more effective at overseeing people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell off their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Murphy logo dsign with an illustration that captures the interest of traffic and sends an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t actually developed for an Murphy area farm it was actually created for a products broker, and this business logo was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to develop an identity that projects self-assurance, effectiveness, and wealth.
Logo design created for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
