Plainview Logo Design

Virtually every new Plainview company realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely understand the key role their company logo will take in their financial success, or precisely why one logo works better than another. A business logo has an instant and long-term effect on the prosperity of a business, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Plainview businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Plainview coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were launching in an older section of town and wished to visualize a retro tone without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs via developing a custom logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and also germs developed for Plainview medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family members enjoyable facility in Plainview.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Plainview traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Plainview logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Plainview logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but the client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased point of views on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how essential a logo is for their organization so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo project possesses it’s share of obstacles, however the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Plainview book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most necessary part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many cases one of the items people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a spirit of airline flight and it was certainly a winner.

Plainview logo design made use of for advertising as well as a label design for Vintage Situation features an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Plainview, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that almost every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which carried a spirit of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is generally the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the focus on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program programmer the style features and renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

A logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell off their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Plainview logo dsign using a graphic that grabs the interest of vehicles and sends an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually produced for an Plainview area farm it was actually devised for a products broker, and this brand was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to create a graphic that projected assurance, success, and opulence.
Logo created for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is similar to a famous sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the owner to develop a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
