STRATEGIES ON CHOOSING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design agency offers a money back guarantee try to remember that they simply cannot reimburse the time you invest which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but ultimately a design firm can only be determined by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t feature real life samples chances are they won’t be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s purpose is to reflect your personal vision for your company. If a designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how fast they can get paid.

Plainview LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping small business owners establish notable brands. We’ve undertaken branding work for ranchers, schools, diamond miners, party planners, bistros, retailers, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes us unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every logo design project as though it will be used as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first technique our designs can, and have been employed in everything from fashion labels to electrical signs. Our sign first technique ensures that our logo designs are just as reliable whether they are used in television commercials or web headers, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and always remembered irrespective of scale or function.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you may have stumbled upon in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are brought on board to perform, we do ourselves. Regardless of the kind of design project we take on, brand identity design, website, trade show booth, or retail sign, we do not, and never will job-out our client’s work to 3rd parties based outside the US. When you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that marks up the cost of your project and imposes the conditions of how you and I do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Every new Plainview business knows they probably need a logo, however few start ups thoroughly comprehend the essential role their logo design can make in their success, or the reason that one business logo works far better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long term effect on the success of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Plainview companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t need scrutiny, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the item or business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be timeless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s a verb and a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the act of denoting something so that it can be recognized, its genesis comes from the brand burned onto livestock. Nowadays a brand signifies basically anything with a motive, regardless of whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the worth of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s attractive cousin, they are both from the very same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition targeted at a specific audience, it’s objective is to create an image that the target market can identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When someone states the brand names Porsche or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people buy those products. Brand image is why individuals get specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Firms – If you reflect on the beginning of most branding companies you’ll find that they are frequently rebranded marketing companies. When someone claims they are in advertising and marketing most individuals will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. Yet when someone claims “I’m in branding”… it simply sounds more impressive, probably it’s because lots of people do not understand what it indicates to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and kind of sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that explains the visual components of a product or company that influence view points. This largely consists of the name, the logo design, the product packaging, the colors utilized however can likewise include sound, lights, texture, signs, just about anything that can be seen, touched or listened to are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that concentrates on a kind of visual design which helps shape the image of a firm, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers create logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, as well as collateral products such as business cards, stationery, and pamphlets. Some identity designers also build websites and software interfaces. The crucial function of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the objective of affecting actions, results and perceptions.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Plainview coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were launching in an older section of the community and hoped to visualize an old-fashioned tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by means of creating a company logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs designed for Plainview medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping green frog made for a family fun facility in Plainview.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Plainview travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead convey emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Plainview logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Plainview logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get honest opinions on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo understand how vital a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s share of difficulties, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Plainview book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a printed book since it is often the initial thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many cases one of the things individuals often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a spirit of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Plainview logo layout used for advertising and marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Plainview, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a Plainview hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that conveyed a feeling of calmness and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious course of making simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo design that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is oftentimes the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian horse logo layout developed for a horse ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a unique organization logo concept tailored to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. With an identifiable head shape and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily recognizable horse breeds in the world.

Las Cafe, A Plainview restaurant logo design a little dining establishment, layout includes a modified manuscript font style which floats over a group of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a tiny dining establishment, layout includes a customized script font which hovers above a team of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software application designer the design functions and also legendary Plainview element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

Evolve logo style created for a Plainviewindoor designer, style function a collection of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the center of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Plainview interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is an individual who arranges, explores, coordinates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that consists of conceptual development, area planning, site examinations, programming, analysis, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo style done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Plainview, the characters for letter V and A in middle of words advanced have been modified to link directly right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Plainview logo design assignment was undertaken for a management specialist that helps business professionals to become more effective at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Plainview business logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell off their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Plainview logo design design with a graphic which garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this Plainview company logo layout has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually developed for an Plainview area farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this particular logo design was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to make an identity that projects assurance, financial success, and prosperity.

Plainview Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design function for externally dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the first try.

Logo developed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is evocative a popular Plainview sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
