Port Arthur Logo Design

Nearly every new Port Arthur venture knows they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners entirely understand the essential role their company logo will perform in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo works far better than another. A logo has a critical and long term effect on the prosperity of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Port Arthur companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require consideration, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Port Arthur coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an older section of the area and really wanted to visualize a nostalgic tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks via creating a trademark concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and also bacteria made for Port Arthur clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I remember where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping green frog created for a family members fun center in Port Arthur.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Port Arthur travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they often convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Port Arthur logo but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Port Arthur logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get honest point of views on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how important a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo job possesses it’s share of hurdles, however the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Port Arthur publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a published book considering that it is often the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems that in many instances 1 of the aspects individuals usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a spirit of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Port Arthur logo design utilized for advertising and marketing and a label design for Vintage Instance includes an archaic font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Port Arthur, layout include an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs considering that it appears that every single dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dentist logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which carried a sense of contentment and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the focus on the emotion that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Las Coffee shop logo layout a small restaurant, style contains a modified script typeface which floats over a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software application developer the design functions as well as legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance behind a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

Evolve logo layout produced for a Port Arthur indoor developer, design attribute a series of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

A logo design including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to market their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Port Arthur logo design dsign using an image which captures the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo style has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really developed for an Port Arthur area farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this particular brand was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to design an identity that projects assurance, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo made for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked directly with the business owner to design a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
