POINTERS ON CHOOSING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design company offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can not reimburse the time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but inevitably a design firm can only be determined from the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio does not feature real world samples chances are they will never be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s purpose is to mirror your personal vision for your company. If a designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how fast they can get paid.

Sherman LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping small business owners establish notable brands. We have undertaken brand design work for mechanics, schools, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee shops, retailers, and virtually every other kind of business you can think of. What makes ImageCo unique compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every logo design project as though it will be used as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first strategy our logo designs can, and have been used in everything from clothing labels to electrical signs. Our sign first approach insures that our logo designs are equally reliable whether they are used in TV commercials or website headers, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and always remembered no matter of scale or use.

American Made ★ Design

Something which really sets ImageCo apart from other design companies that you probably have found in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are enlisted to do, we do ourselves. Irrespective of the type of project we accept, logo, website, trade show booth, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our customer’s work to contractors located outside the United States. When you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that increases the price of your design project and imposes the conditions of how my customers and I do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Sherman organization knows they probably need a logo, however few start-ups entirely realize the crucial role their logo will play in their success, or why one logo design functions more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and lasting effect on the viability of a business, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Sherman companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t need scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to posters a scalable logo design will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the item or company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be ageless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark as well as the process of noting something so that it can be identified, its origin originates from the mark branded onto animals. These days a brand symbolizes practically anything with an objective, regardless if it be revenue or government agencies, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the worth of something in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are both from the very same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest directed at a specific audience, it’s objective is to produce a mental image that the target market will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured by advertising and marketing and identity design. When somebody says the names Porsche or Mustang what we think of is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes people want those products. Brand image is why people identify with most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Agencies – If you reflect on the origin of a lot of branding firms you’ll discover that they are quite often rebranded advertising and marketing firms. When someone claims they are in advertising most people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. But when somebody says “I’m in branding”… it just seems more attractive, possibly it’s because many people don’t know what it indicates to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that defines the visual elements of a product or business that influence view points. This mainly includes the name, the logo design, the product packaging, the different colors used however can also consist of audio, illumination, texture, signage, actually anything that can be seen, felt or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that concentrates on a type of visual design which helps shape the image of a company, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and also brochures. Some identity designers also develop websites and also user interfaces. The important duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the objective of influencing actions, end results as well as understandings.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Sherman coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an older part of town and really wanted to project a vintage atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs by creating a sign concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide as well as germs designed for Sherman clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which deals with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members enjoyable facility in Sherman.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - made for Sherman travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Sherman logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Sherman logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get honest point of views on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their business logo realize how important a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo project has it’s portion of difficulties, however the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Sherman book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a published book given that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it seems that in many instances one of the items consumers often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a spirit of air travel and it was certainly a victory.

Sherman logo layout utilized for advertising and also a tag style for Vintage Situation includes an old typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be used for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Sherman, design consist of an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that virtually every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style produced for a Sherman hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design that communicated an atmosphere of relaxation and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious course of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is more often than not the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo layout created for a steed ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a distinct logo design tailored to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of horses. With an unique head shape and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately recognizable equine types in the world.

Las Cafe, A Sherman Coffee shop logo design a tiny dining establishment, layout contains a modified script font which hovers above a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a little restaurant, layout consists of a customized script font which hovers over a team of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software programmer the design attributes and also famous Sherman aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Advance logo layout developed for a Shermaninterior developer, layout attribute a series of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the center of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Sherman interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who arranges, explores, collaborates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a diverse occupation that consists of conceptual development, area planning, location assessments, programming, research, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Sherman, the personalities for letter V as well as A in center of words advanced have actually been customized to connect directly into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Sherman logo design project was carried out for a management guide that assists business leaders to become more effective at supervising people, expectations, and productivity.

A Sherman business logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly realized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell off their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Sherman business logo design with an image which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this Sherman company logo design has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t really created for an Sherman area farm it was really designed for a products broker, and this logo design was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to design a image that projects confidence, success, and affluence.

Sherman Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design feature for externally facing arrowhead and the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the liberty to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo made for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is reminiscent of a well-known Sherman sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to create a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
