TIPS FOR PICKING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design agency offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they simply cannot refund the amount of time you commit which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many design firms talk a good game but ultimately a design agency can only be determined from the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain actual examples odds are they will not be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s goal is to reflect your unique vision for your organization. If a logo designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Brigham City LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping business owners develop notable brands. We’ve undertaken brand design work for ranchers, schools, heart surgeons, wedding singers, cafes, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business you can imagine. What makes us different compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every logo design project as if it will be used as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first technique our logo designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to neon signs. Our sign first approach guarantees that our logo designs are equally successful whether they are used in TV commercials or web headers, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and always remembered regardless of scale or use.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which really sets ImageCo apart from other design companies that you probably have come across online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are brought on board to do, we perform ourselves. No matter the kind of project we take on, brand identity design, web site, trade show exhibit, or electric sign, we do not, and never will farm out our client’s projects to agencies based outside the USA. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that marks up the price of your project and imposes the conditions of how you and I conduct business.

QUALITIES OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Brigham City entrepreneur realizes that they probably need a logo, but few start ups fully understand the crucial role their company logo will play in their financial success, or precisely why one business logo works better than another. A logo has an immediate and long term influence on the financial success of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Brigham City companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be lasting and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark as well as the act of denoting something to ensure that it can be distinguished, its genesis originates from the mark burned onto animals. Nowadays a brand represents virtually anything with a motive, whether it be revenue or government agencies, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the worth of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are all from the very same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition targeted at a target audience, it’s goal is to produce a mental image that the audience will likely relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and identity design. When a person says the names Lamborghini or Mustang what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people purchase those brands. Brand image is why people identify with specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the history of many branding companies you’ll find that they are often re-branded advertising firms. When somebody claims they are in advertising and marketing most people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. However when somebody states “I am in branding”… it simply sounds much more attractive, probably it’s because many people do not know what it implies to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that explains the visual elements of a product or company that affect view points. This mostly includes the name, the logo design, the packaging, the different colors utilized however can likewise consist of audio, lighting, texture, signage, really anything that can be seen, felt or heard become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that specializes in a kind of visual design which helps form the public image of a firm, a product or a business. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and brochures. Some visual designers also build websites and also software interfaces. The vital duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the objective of affecting activities, end results as well as assumptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Brigham City coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an older section of the community and really wanted to cast a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs by means of designing a business logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also germs created for Brigham City medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more focus grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family members fun facility in Brigham City.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Brigham City traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Brigham City logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Brigham City logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get honest opinions on the value of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo design comprehend how vital a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of hurdles, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Brigham City publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most important part of a printed book given that it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever have to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems like that in many cases 1 of the aspects individuals tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a good sense of airline flight and it was surely a winner.

Brigham City logo style used for marketing and a label style for Vintage Situation features an archaic font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Brigham City, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects considering that it appears that almost every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style developed for a Brigham City hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which carried an atmosphere of peace and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious route of crafting just a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is frequently the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the main focus on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo layout developed for a horse cattle ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a one-of-a-kind brand concept tailored to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. With a different head shape and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately recognizable equine breeds in the world.

Las Cafe, A Brigham City restaurant logo design a little dining establishment, layout consists of a changed script typeface which hovers over a group of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a small restaurant, style contains a modified manuscript font style which hovers over a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo style for a software application developer the design attributes and famous Brigham City component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a company logo is just as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Develop logo design developed for a Brigham Cityindoor designer, style function a collection of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Brigham City interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who plans, explores, collaborates, and oversees such projects. Interior design is a diverse occupation that consists of conceptual development, area planning, location inspections, programming, study, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Brigham City, the characters for letter V as well as A in middle of the word progressed have actually been customized to tie straight into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Brigham City logo design job was performed for a management advisor that assists business leaders to become more effective at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Brigham City business logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell off their used goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Brigham City business logo design along with a graphic that captures the interest of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo design MQ farms, this Brigham City company logo design has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really produced for an Brigham City area farm it was really devised for a products broker, and this company was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to generate a graphic that projects self-assurance, effectiveness, and luxury.

Brigham City Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design function for outwardly facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the opportunity to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo developed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is reminiscent of a popular Brigham City sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to create a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
