Cedar City Logo Design

Virtually every new Cedar City venture understands that they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely are aware of the crucial role their logo design can make in their success, or why one logo functions far better than another. A company logo has an immediate and long-term influence on the growth of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Cedar City companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand consideration, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Cedar City coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were opening up in an old part of town and really wanted to project a vintage atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs via creating a company logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs developed for Cedar City medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the clinical evaluation of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping green frog developed for a household enjoyable facility in Cedar City.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Cedar City traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys by means of the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Cedar City logo but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Cedar City logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get objective assessments on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo understand how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design job has it’s share of hurdles, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Cedar City publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most vital part of a printed book since it is usually the first thing a person views in the book shop. Regarding a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems like that in many occurrences one of the aspects people tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was surely a winner.

Cedar City logo style used for advertising and marketing and a label design for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be used for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Cedar City, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs because it seems that each and every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo which carried a spirit of ease and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but instead created a company logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the layout features as well as renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to market their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Cedar City logo dsign utilizing an image that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really created for an Cedar City regional farm it was actually devised for an investments broker, and this particular trademark was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to design a image that projected esteem, financial success, and affluence.
Logo made for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a renowned sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
