Magna Logo Design

Virtually every new Magna organization understands that they need a logo, yet few new business owners entirely are aware of the vital role their logo can play in their financial success, or why one logo works far better than another. A logo design has a critical and long term impact on the financial success of a business, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Magna businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will be legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Magna coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an old section of the town and hoped to visualize a vintage tone without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both jobs via developing a custom logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria designed for Magna clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping green frog created for a family enjoyable center in Magna.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Magna travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather project emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Magna logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Magna logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial assessments on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo comprehend how important a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo job possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Magna publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the first thing a person views in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many instances one of the traits people often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a feeling of flight and it was certainly a victory.

Magna logo design made use of for advertising and marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this brand concept I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Magna, style include an arc with lines converging through it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs because it seems that almost every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that projected a sense of serenity and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious route of designing merely a stylized orchid but rather created a business logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is frequently the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the emphasis on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program designer the style attributes as well as iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the significance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Advance logo layout developed for a Magna interior developer, layout function a series of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to sell off their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Magna business logo dsign utilizing an illustration that seizes the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really produced for an Magna area farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this particular company logo was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to make an identity that projects assurance, success, and opulence.
Logo made for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is reminiscent of a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
