Midvale Logo Design

Nearly every new Midvale venture realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly recognize the essential role their business logo can make in their success, or precisely why one logo functions better than another. A company logo has an immediate and long-term influence on the financial success of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Midvale businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Midvale coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually launching in an old section of town and hoped to project a vintage atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs by means of creating a business logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria designed for Midvale clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which works with the laboratory examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family members enjoyable center in Midvale.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Midvale travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Midvale logo design but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Midvale logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his contempt for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get objective opinions on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their business logo recognize how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of challenges, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Midvale book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a printed book because it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever get to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems that in many cases one of the traits individuals usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Midvale logo layout utilized for marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this business logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Midvale, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which related a sense of serenity and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the importance on the feeling that they wanted to project to their clients.

Logo design for a software application programmer the style features and iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance behind a company logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Midvale logo dsign along with an illustration that seizes the attention of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Midvale regional farm it was actually devised for an investments broker, and this particular trademark was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to design a graphic that projected self-confidence, financial success, and wealth.
Logo developed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is similar to a renowned sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo design that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
