Midvale, Utah Logo Design

Virtually every new Midvale company understands that they need a logo, however few new business owners entirely realize the essential role their business logo can make in their financial success, or precisely why one business logo functions far better than another. A logo has an instant and lasting effect on the prosperity of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Midvale, Utah companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand contemplation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bike created for a Midvale, Utah coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were launching in an older part of town and really wanted to visualize a nostalgic vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by means of creating a sign design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria developed for Midvale, Utah clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recall in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping green frog made for a family enjoyable facility in Midvale, Utah.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - made for Midvale, Utah travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they often share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Midvale logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Midvale logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get objective viewpoints on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo understand how important a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of obstacles, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Midvale, Utah book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, however it is the most essential part of a published book given that it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it looks like that in many instances 1 of the traits folks tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to confering a good sense of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

Midvale logo style utilized for marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Midvale, Utah, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs considering that it appears that every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that conveyed a feeling of simplicity and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious course of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo design which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is frequently the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to project to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo layout a tiny restaurant, design contains a modified manuscript typeface which hovers above a team of ornate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a tiny dining establishment, layout consists of a changed script typeface which floats over a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo style for a software designer the style functions and famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo design is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the characters for letter V as well as A in middle of the word advanced have been customized to connect straight into the words listed below.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell off their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Midvale business logo dsign along with an image which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really produced for an Midvale, Utah area farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this particular logo was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to generate an identity that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and luxury.

Midvale Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style feature for externally facing arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without realizing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo created for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is evocative a renowned sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the owner to design a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
