Ogden, Utah Logo Design

Virtually every new Ogden company realizes that they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully realize the vital role their organization’s logo will make in their financial success, or the reason that one logo functions more effectively than another. A logo design has an instant and sustaining influence on the financial success of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Ogden, Utah businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to billboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be ageless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Ogden, Utah coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were opening up in an older part of the city and wanted to cast a nostalgic vibe without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both tasks by developing a business logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for Ogden, Utah clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping green frog created for a family enjoyable facility in Ogden, Utah.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - developed for Ogden, Utah traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather project emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Ogden logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Ogden logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo design recognize how important a logo design is for their business so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Ogden, Utah publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a printed book since it is usually the first thing a person views in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it looks like that in many occurrences one of the aspects folks tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a feeling of flight and it was definitely a victory.

Ogden logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing and a label style for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Ogden, Utah, style consist of an arc with lines converging through it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it appears that almost every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which projected a spirit of peace and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo design which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is more often than not the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software program developer the layout features and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the significance supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to sell their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Ogden logo dsign with an image which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Ogden, Utah area farm it was actually devised for an investments broker, and this logo design was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to make a brand mark that projects confidence, success, and affluence.

Ogden Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style function for ostensibly facing arrow and the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo developed for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a famous sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo design which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
