Sandy Hills Logo Design

Each and every new Sandy Hills business realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners fully grasp the key role their organization logo will play in their financial success, or the reason that one business logo functions better than another. A business logo has a critical and lasting effect on the financial success of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Sandy Hills businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Sandy Hills coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older part of the community and wished to project a vintage feel without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved the two tasks by creating a logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for Sandy Hills clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical assessment of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping green frog developed for a family members fun facility in Sandy Hills.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Sandy Hills traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather project emotional journeys through the photos they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Sandy Hills logo design but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Sandy Hills logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get objective judgements on the value of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo comprehend how essential a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of obstacles, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Sandy Hills publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most essential part of a published book since it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of air travel and it was certainly a success.

Sandy Hills logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Instance features an archaic typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Sandy Hills, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging logo design projects considering that it appears that every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which projected a sense of simplicity and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious route of making simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is frequently the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the attention on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the design attributes and also iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a business logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to market their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Sandy Hills logo dsign using an illustration which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t actually developed for an Sandy Hills regional farm it was actually created for an investments broker, and this particular company logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to produce an identity that projects trust, success, and luxury.
Logo developed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is reminiscent of a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo design that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
