East Hampton Logo Design

Nearly every new East Hampton organization understands that they need a logo, yet few new business owners fully grasp the pivotal role their organization logo will take in their success, or precisely why one logo design performs more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and lasting influence on the growth of a business, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help East Hampton companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike created for a East Hampton coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an older section of the city and wanted to visualize an old-fashioned atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs via developing a trademark design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs developed for East Hampton medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the laboratory examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog made for a household fun center in East Hampton.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for East Hampton traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  East Hampton logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

East Hampton logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased point of views on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo understand how vital a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo design project has it’s share of difficulties, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for East Hampton publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most vital part of a printed book given that it is often the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems that in many cases one of the traits consumers often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

East Hampton logo style used for advertising and also a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an archaic typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be antique cases. For this business logo design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in East Hampton, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that communicated a spirit of tranquility and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a concept that did not go the obvious course of creating just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo design which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is more often than not the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the attention on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design functions as well as iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to market their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their East Hampton business logo dsign with an image which captures the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really composed for an East Hampton area farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this particular trademark was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to generate a brand mark that projects confidence, success, and luxury.
Logo design made for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to develop a logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
