Hampton, Virginia Logo Design

Every new Hampton company understands that they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners entirely grasp the vital role their business logo will play in their financial success, or why one business logo works more effectively than another. A logo has an instant and long-term impact on the growth of a company, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a company.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Hampton, Virginia businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand contemplation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Hampton, Virginia coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening up in an older section of the area and hoped to cast a vintage tone without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both of these tasks by creating a company logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria designed for Hampton, Virginia clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which examines the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family enjoyable center in Hampton, Virginia.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Hampton, Virginia traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead convey emotional journeys by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hampton logo design but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Hampton logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get impartial opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo design understand how important a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, but the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Hampton, Virginia book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most essential part of a published book considering that it is often the primary thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the items consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to confering a feeling of air travel and it was surely a success.

Hampton logo style made use of for marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Case features an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Hampton, Virginia, layout include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects considering that it appears that virtually every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really really love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design that related a feeling of relaxation and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious path of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is usually the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the emphasis on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software program designer the design features and also famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to market their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Hampton logo dsign with an illustration which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really developed for an Hampton, Virginia regional farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this particular brand was one of several which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to produce a graphic that projects assurance, success, and opulence.

Hampton Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo designed for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is evocative a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the business owner to design a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
