Laurel Logo Design

Each and every new Laurel venture realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners entirely are aware of the pivotal role their logo will take in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo design works far better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long term effect on the prosperity of a company, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Laurel companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Laurel coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an old part of town and wanted to project a vintage atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by means of designing a company logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria created for Laurel clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog made for a family fun center in Laurel.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Laurel travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Laurel logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Laurel logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo design realize how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Laurel book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most important part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person views in the book store. Concerning a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems that in many instances 1 of the aspects folks usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of airline flight and it was definitely a winner.

Laurel logo design utilized for advertising as well as a label style for Vintage Situation features an archaic font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Laurel, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it appears that every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to explain how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which related a feeling of contentment and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious course of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead created a logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is generally the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian steed logo style created for an equine cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed an original business logo concept tailored to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. With an unique head form and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most immediately recognizable horse breeds in the world.

Las Coffee shop logo style a small dining establishment, style includes a customized script font style which floats above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a little restaurant, layout contains a changed manuscript typeface which hovers above a team of ornate lines and dots.

Logo style for a software developer the design attributes and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

Advance logo layout created for a Laurel interior designer, design feature a series of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

logo design provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the characters for letter V as well as A in middle of the word progressed have been modified to link straight right into words listed below.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to sell their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Laurel logo design dsign with an image which seizes the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually produced for an Laurel regional farm it was actually created for an investments broker, and this particular company logo was one of multiple that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to develop a graphic that projected assurance, financial success, and wealth.
Logo design designed for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is similar to a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to design a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
