Linton Hall, Virginia Logo Design

Virtually every new Linton Hall business realizes that they require a logo, but few new business owners fully recognize the pivotal role their logo design can play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design works more effectively than another. A logo has an immediate and lasting influence on the viability of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Linton Hall, Virginia companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to signboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Linton Hall, Virginia coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an old section of the area and hoped to visualize a vintage vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks by developing a symbol design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and also germs designed for Linton Hall, Virginia medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a household enjoyable center in Linton Hall, Virginia.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Linton Hall, Virginia travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the images they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Linton Hall logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Linton Hall logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get honest assessments on the value of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how important a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo job has it’s portion of difficulties, however the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Linton Hall, Virginia book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, yet it is the most critical part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the first thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the things people often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a spirit of air travel and it was surely a success.

Linton Hall logo style used for marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an old typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Linton Hall, Virginia, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that conveyed an atmosphere of tranquility and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious route of designing merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo design that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the focus on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo design for a software program developer the style features and renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Linton Hall logo design dsign with an image which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t actually designed for an Linton Hall, Virginia regional farm it was actually created for an investments broker, and this particular logo was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to create a graphic that projected confidence, financial success, and prosperity.

Linton Hall Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style attribute for outwardly facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the flexibility to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo design created for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is evocative a renowned sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to create a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
