Montclair Logo Design

Virtually every new Montclair venture realizes that they require a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly grasp the key role their organization logo will take in their financial success, or the reason that one logo design works better than another. A company logo has a critical and long-term effect on the success of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Montclair businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require deliberation, they can be realized in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Montclair coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually launching in an old section of town and really wanted to project a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs via creating a symbol concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs designed for Montclair clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical examination of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo style with a leaping green frog made for a family enjoyable center in Montclair.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - created for Montclair travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Montclair logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Montclair logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo comprehend how important a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of hurdles, however the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Montclair book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most vital part of a printed book since it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many instances 1 of the things folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a feeling of flight and it was definitely a success.

Montclair logo style used for advertising and a label layout for Vintage Instance features an archaic font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Montclair, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it seems that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which communicated an atmosphere of calmness and class for their new hair studio. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious route of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo design that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is generally the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the importance on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian steed logo design produced for an equine cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a one-of-a-kind logotype concept styled to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. With an unique head shape and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most quite easily recognizable equine breeds in the whole world.

Las Cafe logo design a small restaurant, style includes a changed manuscript font which floats above a team of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software application programmer the layout attributes and iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to sell off their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Montclair logo design dsign with an image that grabs the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Montclair area farm it was actually designed for a products broker, and this particular trademark was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to make a graphic that projected self-assurance, success, and prosperity.
Logo design developed for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
