Petersburg Logo Design

Each and every new Petersburg company realizes that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly realize the essential role their business logo will play in their financial success, or why one business logo performs far better than another. A business logo has an immediate and lasting effect on the financial success of a business, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Petersburg companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Petersburg coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an old section of the community and hoped to cast an old-fashioned feel without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs by means of designing a sign design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria developed for Petersburg clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the clinical assessment of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family fun facility in Petersburg.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Petersburg traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Petersburg logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Petersburg logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get objective judgements on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how essential a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo job has it’s share of obstacles, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Petersburg publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, however it is the most essential part of a printed book since it is ordinarily the primary thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems that in many cases 1 of the items people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Petersburg logo style utilized for marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Situation features an old font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Petersburg, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dentists do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design that communicated an atmosphere of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious route of making just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is in most cases the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian horse logo layout produced for a horse cattle ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a one-of-a-kind organization logo concept customized to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With an identifiable head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable horse lineages in the entire world.

Logo style for a software program programmer the design attributes and also iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Progress logo design developed for a Petersburg interior developer, style feature a collection of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Petersburg logo design dsign with an illustration which garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Petersburg regional farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to develop a brand mark that projects self-assurance, success, and wealth.
Logo developed for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to create a logo design that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
