Short Pump Logo Design

Each and every new Short Pump venture knows they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully understand the essential role their logo will make in their becoming successful, or precisely why one business logo performs far better than another. A logo has a critical and sustaining impact on the success of a business, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Short Pump businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Short Pump coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an old part of the area and hoped to visualize a vintage tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks via creating a company logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria created for Short Pump clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical assessment of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recall in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family enjoyable center in Short Pump.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Short Pump travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the images they record. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Short Pump logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Short Pump logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get objective assessments on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo design realize how vital a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Short Pump publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most vital part of a published book since it is in most cases the primary thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the items consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was surely a winner.

Short Pump logo layout used for marketing and a label design for Vintage Case includes an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Short Pump, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs considering that it seems that every single dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that carried a feeling of contentment and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious direction of crafting merely a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo design that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is generally the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the focus on the perception that they wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian horse logo design developed for a horse ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a one-of-a-kind brand design fashioned to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. By having a different head form and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly easily identifiable horse types in the world.

Las Cafe logo style a tiny dining establishment, style consists of a customized script font which hovers above a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo design for a software application designer the design attributes and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Progress logo style created for a Short Pump interior designer, design function a series of red circles that intersect as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Short Pump logo design job was completed for a management advisor that enables business leaders to become more successful at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo design including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Short Pump logo dsign with an image that seizes the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t actually composed for an Short Pump regional farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this particular company was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to make a graphic that projects assurance, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo designed for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a renowned sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a logo design which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
