West Falls Church, Virginia Logo Design

Virtually every new West Falls Church organization realizes that they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly recognize the pivotal role their logo design will play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design works more effectively than another. A logo has an instant and long-term impact on the financial success of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help West Falls Church, Virginia companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand scrutiny, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a West Falls Church, Virginia coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an old part of the town and hoped to project an old-fashioned tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs via designing a trademark concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria developed for West Falls Church, Virginia medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the clinical examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I recollect where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family fun center in West Falls Church, Virginia.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - developed for West Falls Church, Virginia traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  West Falls Church logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

West Falls Church logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo design realize how important a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s share of challenges, but the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for West Falls Church, Virginia publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a printed book given that it is ordinarily the first thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems that in many cases one of the items folks usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was certainly a success.

West Falls Church logo style utilized for marketing and a tag style for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this brand concept I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in West Falls Church, Virginia, layout include an arc with lines converging through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects considering that it seems that almost every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really really love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo which conveyed a feeling of simplicity and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo design that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is more often than not the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo layout for a software program designer the style features and also iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the company it represents.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to sell their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their West Falls Church business logo dsign utilizing a graphic which garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

West Falls Church Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for outwardly dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without recognizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I nailed a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo design created for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is similar to a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to develop a logo design which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
