West Springfield Logo Design

Virtually every new West Springfield venture realizes that they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the key role their logo can take in their success, or the reason that one logo functions better than another. A business logo has an instant and sustaining influence on the success of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help West Springfield businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a West Springfield coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older part of town and wished to project a nostalgic tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved the two tasks by designing a logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and germs designed for West Springfield medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family fun facility in West Springfield.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for West Springfield travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather project emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  West Springfield logo but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

West Springfield logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced viewpoints on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo realize how crucial a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for West Springfield publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most critical part of a printed book given that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the items consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a spirit of air travel and it was undoubtedly a victory.

West Springfield logo design utilized for advertising and marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Case features an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in West Springfield, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs considering that it seems that every single dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design which communicated a feeling of serenity and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious direction of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead designed a company logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is usually the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the attention on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software program designer the design functions and iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular West Springfield logo design job was carried out for a management coach that helps business professionals to become more efficient at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their West Springfield business logo dsign utilizing an illustration which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t really composed for an West Springfield regional farm it was really devised for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to generate a graphic that projected confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo design created for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is evocative a popular sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
