Battle-Ground, Washington Logo Design

Virtually every new Battle-Ground organization understands that they require a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly understand the vital role their organization logo will perform in their financial success, or exactly why one business logo works more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and sustaining impact on the growth of a business, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Battle-Ground, Washington companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Battle-Ground, Washington coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older part of town and wished to project an old-fashioned tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved the two jobs via designing a logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and germs developed for Battle-Ground, Washington clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that deals with the clinical assessment of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and more memorable.

logo design with a leaping green frog created for a family enjoyable center in Battle-Ground, Washington.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Battle-Ground, Washington traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Battle-Ground logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Battle-Ground logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get impartial judgements on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo understand how important a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Battle-Ground, Washington book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most critical part of a published book considering that it is often the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it seems that in many instances 1 of the aspects consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of airline flight and it was certainly a success.

Battle-Ground logo layout used for advertising and a label style for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Battle-Ground, Washington, layout include an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which communicated a sense of simplicity and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious route of crafting just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is more often than not the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software application developer the layout features and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Progress logo style created for a Battle-Ground, Washington indoor developer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the center of the logo style.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Battle-Ground, Washington logo design job was carried out for a leadership consultant that assists business leaders to become more effective at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.
A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to sell their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Battle-Ground logo dsign using an image which seizes the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t really composed for an Battle-Ground, Washington area farm it was actually designed for a products broker, and this particular creative logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to create a brand mark that projects assurance, effectiveness, and luxury.

Battle-Ground Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo layout attribute for ostensibly dealing with arrowhead and also the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the liberty to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo developed for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
