Bellevue, Washington Logo Design

Each and every new Bellevue company knows they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully grasp the pivotal role their business logo can take in their financial success, or why one logo design functions more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and long term impact on the viability of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a company.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Bellevue, Washington companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will remain legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.
Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Bellevue, Washington coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an older section of the area and really wanted to cast a retro atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs via developing a logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs created for Bellevue, Washington medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the clinical examination of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family members enjoyable facility in Bellevue, Washington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Bellevue, Washington travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead reveal emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Bellevue logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Bellevue logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral opinions on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo realize how essential a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Bellevue, Washington book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most vital part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems like that in many cases 1 of the traits consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was certainly a winner.

Bellevue logo style utilized for advertising and marketing and also a label design for Vintage Instance features an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Bellevue, Washington, style include an arc with lines converging through it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it appears that every single dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that related an atmosphere of ease and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a business logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is frequently the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the focus on the emotion that they wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software program designer the design features and also iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the significance supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Bellevue business logo dsign utilizing an image which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Bellevue, Washington area farm it was actually developed for a products broker, and this particular company was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to create a graphic that projects esteem, success, and prosperity.

Bellevue Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design function for outwardly encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the opportunity to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo developed for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to design a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
