Bothell, Washington Logo Design

Each and every new Bothell business person realizes that they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully realize the crucial role their logo design can make in their success, or the reason that one logo performs more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining effect on the financial success of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Bothell, Washington businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be enduring and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.
Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Bothell, Washington coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were launching in an older part of the community and wished to project a vintage atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks through creating a custom logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs created for Bothell, Washington clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family members enjoyable center in Bothell, Washington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - created for Bothell, Washington travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead project emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Bothell logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Bothell logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get honest assessments on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo recognize how important a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of challenges, but the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Bothell, Washington book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most crucial part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many cases 1 of the things people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a feeling of airline flight and it was certainly a winner.

Bothell logo design utilized for marketing and a label style for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Bothell, Washington, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo jobs because it seems that virtually every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that projected a feeling of calmness and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious path of crafting just a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo design which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is in most cases the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the attention on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo design for a software application developer the layout functions as well as famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the company it represents.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to market their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Bothell logo design dsign with an illustration that grabs the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t actually produced for an Bothell, Washington regional farm it was actually designed for an investments broker, and this trademark was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to make a brand mark that projects self-assurance, financial success, and opulence.

Bothell Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style feature for outwardly dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without realizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo created for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a renowned sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to create a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
