TIPS ON CHOOSING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design company offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can not refund the time you commit which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but ultimately a design firm can only be judged from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t feature actual samples chances are they will never be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s objective is to mirror your unique vision for your organization. If a designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Bothell LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs cultivate notable brands. We’ve performed branding work for ranchers, colleges, diamond miners, party planners, bistros, retailers, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes us different compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every design as though it will be utilized as an electric sign. Because of our sign first strategy our logo designs can, and have been utilized in everything from clothing labels to neon signs. Our sign first method insures that our logos are equally effective whether they are used in TV commercials or website headers, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and remembered no matter of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

Something that truly sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you might have found in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are hired to do, we do in-house. No matter the kind of design project we accept, logo design, web page, trade show booth, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job-out our client’s projects to organizations based outside the US. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that marks up the cost of your project and determines the conditions of how my customers and I do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Every new Bothell entrepreneur realizes that they require a logo, however few start-ups fully recognize the pivotal role their logo will perform in their becoming successful, or why one logo works more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and long term influence on the success of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Bothell companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to store signs a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be lasting and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It is both a verb and a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the act of noting something to ensure that it could be identified, its genesis comes from the brand branded onto animals. Nowadays a brand indicates basically anything with a motive, regardless of whether it be profit or government agencies, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the worth of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s attractive sister, they are both from the same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest aimed at a target audience, it’s objective is to produce a mental image that the target market will connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When a person says the brand names Ferrari or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes people purchase those brands. Brand image is why people purchase specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the history of most branding agencies you’ll find that they are quite often re-branded advertising and marketing firms. When somebody claims they are in advertising and marketing the majority of people will likely have an idea about what they do. Yet when a person says “I am in branding”… it simply seems more attractive, possibly it’s because most people do not understand what it means to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that explains the visual aspects of a product or business that influence perceptions. This mainly consists of the name, the logo design, the packaging, the different colors used but can additionally include sound, lighting, texture, signs, really anything that can be seen, felt or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that concentrates on a kind of visual design which helps form the perception of a business, a product or a company. Brand identity designers create logo designs, sign designs, packaging, and collateral material such as cards, stationery, and brochures. Some identity designers also design websites and also software interfaces. The important function of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the goal of influencing activities, outcomes and understandings.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Bothell coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an older part of the town and really wanted to visualize a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs via creating a business logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also germs developed for Bothell clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recollect where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family enjoyable facility in Bothell.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Bothell traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Bothell logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Bothell logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo comprehend how essential a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Bothell publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most crucial part of a printed book since it is often the primary thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems like that in many cases one of the aspects individuals often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a feeling of flight and it was surely a winner.

Bothell logo style used for advertising and a label layout for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be antique cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Bothell, design consist of an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it appears that each and every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a Bothell hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which communicated a feeling of calmness and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious direction of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead created a logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is in most cases the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian horse logo design developed for a horse ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a distinct organization logo design tailored to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. By having a distinctive head shape and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable equine lineages in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Bothell restaurant logo style a little dining establishment, style includes a modified script font which hovers above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a little dining establishment, style consists of a modified script font style which hovers over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Logo design for a software program programmer the layout attributes and legendary Bothell aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Evolve logo layout developed for a Bothellinterior developer, design feature a collection of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Bothell interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who plans, investigates, collaborates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that includes conceptual development, area planning, site inspections, programming, analysis, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Bothell, the personalities for letter V and A in middle of words progressed have actually been modified to tie straight into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Bothell logo design project was carried out for a management expert that assists business leaders to develop into more successful at overseeing people, expectations, and profitability.

A Bothell business logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell off their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Bothell business logo design utilizing a graphic that seizes the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Bothell company logo style has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Bothell area farm it was really created for an investments broker, and this particular logo was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to generate a graphic that projected self-confidence, financial success, and affluence.

Bothell Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for outwardly facing arrow and the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the liberty to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo developed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is similar to a well-known Bothell sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
