Duvall, Washington Logo Design

Every new Duvall business realizes that they need a logo, yet few new business owners entirely grasp the essential role their organization’s logo will take in their financial success, or why one business logo performs far better than another. A logo has an instant and sustaining effect on the growth of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a business.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Duvall, Washington companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand consideration, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Duvall, Washington coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an old part of the city and hoped to visualize a nostalgic tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved both tasks by designing a trademark design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and bacteria created for Duvall, Washington medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which works with the clinical assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable facility in Duvall, Washington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Duvall, Washington traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Duvall logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Duvall logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral judgements on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of hurdles, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Duvall, Washington publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most crucial part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems that in many instances one of the aspects individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Duvall logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing and a label design for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this logo design I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Duvall, Washington, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects because it appears that every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which conveyed a feeling of ease and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious direction of crafting just a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is frequently the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo design for a software application programmer the layout functions and iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Duvall business logo dsign with a graphic that captures the interest of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually composed for an Duvall, Washington area farm it was really designed for a products broker, and this logo design was one of many which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to develop a graphic that projected self-assurance, financial success, and luxury.

Duvall Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo layout feature for ostensibly facing arrow and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular instance, I hit a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo made for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is evocative a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo design that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
