East Hill-Meridian Logo Design

Nearly every new East Hill-Meridian business understands that they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely realize the pivotal role their logo will perform in their success, or why one business logo performs more effectively than another. A logo design has an instant and long-term effect on the prosperity of a company, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help East Hill-Meridian companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a East Hill-Meridian coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older part of town and wished to cast a vintage feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by creating a sign concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and also germs made for East Hill-Meridian clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the laboratory assessment of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and much more memorable.

logo design with a jumping green frog created for a family members fun facility in East Hill-Meridian.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for East Hill-Meridian traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead reveal emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  East Hill-Meridian logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

East Hill-Meridian logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get impartial judgements on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo realize how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of hurdles, however the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for East Hill-Meridian book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most vital part of a printed book considering that it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the book store. Concerning a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems like that in many cases 1 of the traits folks tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

East Hill-Meridian logo layout used for advertising as well as a tag layout for Vintage Situation includes an archaic font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this logo design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in East Hill-Meridian, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that almost every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which communicated a feeling of contentment and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious direction of crafting just a stylized orchid but alternatively created a company logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is oftentimes the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the emphasis on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a one-of-a-kind company logo design fashioned to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. With a different head form and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable equine breeds in the whole world.

Logo style for a software program programmer the style attributes and iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell off their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their East Hill-Meridian logo design dsign along with an image which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t actually designed for an East Hill-Meridian regional farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this particular company was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to design an identity that projects self-confidence, financial success, and opulence.
Logo made for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is evocative a well-known sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the owner to develop a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
