Ellensburg, Washington Logo Design

Every new Ellensburg company knows they need a logo, however few new business owners fully realize the key role their company logo can perform in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design works more effectively than another. A logo design has an immediate and sustaining influence on the viability of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a business.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Ellensburg, Washington companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand deliberation, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from labels to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be enduring and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Ellensburg, Washington coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were opening in an old part of the community and wished to cast a vintage tone without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs by developing a business logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs developed for Ellensburg, Washington clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and much more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Ellensburg, Washington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Ellensburg, Washington traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they often convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Ellensburg logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Ellensburg logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get honest assessments on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo design comprehend how important a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of challenges, however the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Ellensburg, Washington book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, however it is the most necessary part of a printed book since it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the things consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a good sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Ellensburg logo layout utilized for marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Ellensburg, Washington, style consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs considering that it appears that each and every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design which communicated a feeling of relaxation and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious route of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is frequently the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo layout for a software designer the design attributes and renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo style including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Ellensburg logo dsign using an image which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually produced for an Ellensburg, Washington area farm it was really created for an investments broker, and this particular logo was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to develop a brand mark that projected self-assurance, success, and wealth.

Ellensburg Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design feature for ostensibly facing arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the freedom to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo design developed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
