Lacey Logo Design

Each and every new Lacey organization realizes that they need a logo, yet few new business owners entirely understand the key role their logo design can take in their success, or precisely why one logo design performs more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and sustaining effect on the prosperity of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Lacey businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Lacey coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an older part of the town and wanted to cast a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by means of creating a custom logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for Lacey clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the clinical evaluation of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a household enjoyable facility in Lacey.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Lacey travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lacey logo but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Lacey logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial opinions on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo comprehend how essential a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s share of difficulties, but the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Lacey book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most crucial part of a printed book since it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems that in many instances one of the things individuals often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was definitely a winner.

Lacey logo design made use of for marketing and a tag style for Vintage Instance includes an old typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Lacey, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects because it appears that every single dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that related a feeling of contentment and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious direction of crafting just a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian steed logo layout produced for a steed cattle ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a one-of-a-kind company logo design fashioned to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. With a different head form and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most immediately recognizable horse lineages in the entire world.

Logo design for a software developer the design features as well as renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

This particular Lacey logo design assignment was undertaken for a management coach that assists business leaders to develop into more successful at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to sell their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Lacey logo dsign utilizing an illustration that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t actually composed for an Lacey regional farm it was actually developed for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to design a image that projected esteem, effectiveness, and opulence.
Logo designed for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is similar to a renowned sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to create a logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
