Lacey, Washington Logo Design

Virtually every new Lacey company understands that they are in need of a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly recognize the essential role their logo design will make in their success, or why one business logo functions more effectively than another. A logo design has an instant and lasting impact on the success of a company, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Lacey, Washington businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require consideration, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be enduring and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.
Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Lacey, Washington coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an older part of the town and wanted to cast an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both tasks via developing a sign design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and also germs developed for Lacey, Washington medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a household fun center in Lacey, Washington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Lacey, Washington travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather project emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they often share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lacey logo design but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Lacey logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial opinions on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their business logo understand how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of hurdles, however the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Lacey, Washington book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most essential part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the initial thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems like that in many instances 1 of the items people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Lacey logo design made use of for advertising and marketing and a label layout for Vintage Situation includes an old font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Lacey, Washington, style include an arc with lines converging through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most difficult logo design projects because it seems that every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo which projected a sense of tranquility and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a concept that did not go the obvious course of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a company logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is oftentimes the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the focus on the emotion that they wanted to project to their clients.

Logo style for a software application developer the layout functions and also iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to market their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Lacey business logo dsign utilizing a graphic which captures the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t really developed for an Lacey, Washington area farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to generate a image that projected esteem, effectiveness, and luxury.

Lacey Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout feature for ostensibly dealing with arrow and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the liberty to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo created for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is evocative a famous sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the business owner to develop a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
