Lake Stevens Logo Design

Each and every new Lake Stevens company realizes that they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully realize the crucial role their company logo will play in their financial success, or why one logo design works far better than another. A business logo has an immediate and lasting effect on the prosperity of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Lake Stevens businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand consideration, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Lake Stevens coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an older part of town and wished to project a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks via designing a custom logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria made for Lake Stevens medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory assessment of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a family fun center in Lake Stevens.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - developed for Lake Stevens traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lake Stevens logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Lake Stevens logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo realize how important a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo design project has it’s portion of challenges, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Lake Stevens publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most vital part of a printed book because it is often the first thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it looks like that in many cases 1 of the traits consumers tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Lake Stevens logo design used for advertising and a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Lake Stevens, layout include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it appears that almost every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that communicated a sense of ease and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but instead created a logo design which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is usually the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the focus on the emotion that they wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software designer the layout attributes and iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell off their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Lake Stevens logo design dsign with an image which captures the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Lake Stevens regional farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this particular company was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to produce a graphic that projects self-confidence, financial success, and luxury.
Logo made for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is similar to a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the owner to design a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
