Longview, Washington Logo Design

Nearly every new Longview business knows they need a logo, however few new business owners fully recognize the key role their business logo can make in their financial success, or precisely why one logo design works more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and long term effect on the financial success of a business, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Longview, Washington businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand contemplation, they can be realized in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Longview, Washington coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening in an old section of the town and wanted to project an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks via creating a logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for Longview, Washington medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family members enjoyable facility in Longview, Washington.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Longview, Washington travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather project emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Longview logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Longview logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased assessments on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo realize how important a logo design is for their business so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo project possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Longview, Washington publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most critical part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the first thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it looks like that in many occurrences one of the items folks often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Longview logo design made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Case features an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Longview, Washington, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging logo jobs because it appears that every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that carried a spirit of tranquility and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious route of crafting just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a company logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is frequently the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the importance on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Las Cafe logo style a tiny restaurant, style consists of a changed script font style which floats over a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software application developer the style features as well as iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Longview logo dsign utilizing an illustration which seizes the interest of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually designed for an Longview, Washington area farm it was actually designed for an investments broker, and this business logo was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to design an identity that projects esteem, effectiveness, and opulence.

Longview Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout feature for ostensibly facing arrow as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the freedom to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I hit a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo created for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
