Mount Vernon Logo Design

Each and every new Mount Vernon venture realizes that they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully realize the essential role their organization logo can take in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design functions more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and long-term impact on the growth of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Mount Vernon businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Mount Vernon coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an older section of the community and wished to visualize an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by means of developing a trademark concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs designed for Mount Vernon medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping green frog designed for a family fun facility in Mount Vernon.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Mount Vernon traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead project emotional journeys through the images they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Mount Vernon logo but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Mount Vernon logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral judgements on the value of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo recognize how essential a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo job possesses it’s share of challenges, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Mount Vernon publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most critical part of a published book since it is usually the primary thing a person views in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many occurrences one of the traits individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a spirit of air travel and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Mount Vernon logo design used for advertising and a label design for Vintage Case features an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this logo design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Mount Vernon, style consist of an arc with lines converging through it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs because it seems that virtually every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which communicated a sense of ease and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead created a company logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is usually the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the emphasis on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo layout for a software designer the design functions and famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the substance behind a business logo is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Mount Vernon logo dsign with an illustration that garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t actually designed for an Mount Vernon regional farm it was really developed for an investments broker, and this particular creative logo was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to make a graphic that projected self-assurance, financial success, and luxury.
Logo design developed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is evocative a well-known sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo design that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
