Redmond, Washington Logo Design

Virtually every new Redmond business understands that they need a logo, however few new business owners entirely realize the vital role their logo design will take in their financial success, or exactly why one logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and sustaining influence on the financial success of a company, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Redmond, Washington businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to movie screens a scalable logo design will be legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be ageless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.
Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Redmond, Washington coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were launching in an old section of the area and wished to impart a vintage atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs by means of creating a company logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is an enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs made for Redmond, Washington medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family members enjoyable facility in Redmond, Washington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Redmond, Washington travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Redmond logo but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Redmond logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get impartial point of views on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo design recognize how essential a logo design is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo design project has it’s portion of hurdles, however the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Redmond, Washington book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most critical part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems like that in many instances one of the items consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Redmond logo layout utilized for marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an old font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Redmond, Washington, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it seems that every single dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design that communicated a feeling of serenity and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious direction of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo design that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is oftentimes the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo style for a software developer the design attributes and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to market their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Redmond logo dsign using an image which pulls in the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t really developed for an Redmond, Washington area farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this company was one of many which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to develop a graphic that projected esteem, financial success, and prosperity.

Redmond Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style feature for outwardly encountering arrow and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without realizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo design designed for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a renowned sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
