Renton, Washington Logo Design

Every new Renton business person realizes that they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely grasp the essential role their organization’s logo will take in their financial success, or the reason that one business logo functions far better than another. A business logo has an instant and lasting effect on the success of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Renton, Washington companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from labels to signboards a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be timeless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.
Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Renton, Washington coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an old section the city and hoped to impart a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks by creating a symbol concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is an enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs developed for Renton, Washington medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a family members enjoyable center in Renton, Washington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Renton, Washington travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather project emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Renton logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Renton logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get objective viewpoints on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo design recognize how essential a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of challenges, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Renton, Washington publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most important part of a printed book given that it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it looks like that in many instances 1 of the traits consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Renton logo style utilized for advertising and also a tag design for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Renton, Washington, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging logo design projects because it appears that every single dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo which related an atmosphere of peace and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious path of making merely a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is in most cases the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the emphasis on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo design for a software application designer the layout attributes as well as famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to sell their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Renton logo design dsign using a graphic which captures the attention of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Renton, Washington regional farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this particular logo design was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to produce a brand mark that projects self-confidence, effectiveness, and opulence.

Renton Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design feature for ostensibly encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo created for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is similar to a popular sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the business owner to design a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
