Renton, Washington Logo Design

Every new Renton organization knows they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly grasp the essential role their logo can play in their success, or precisely why one logo design functions better than another. A business logo has a critical and long-term influence on the growth of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Renton, Washington businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to posters a scalable business logo will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.
Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Renton, Washington coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were launching in an old part of the area and wished to project an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by means of designing a custom logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria made for Renton, Washington medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the clinical assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a family members fun center in Renton, Washington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Renton, Washington travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Renton logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Renton logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how important a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of challenges, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Renton, Washington publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most crucial part of a published book since it is ordinarily the first thing a person views in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many cases one of the items folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Renton logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Case features an antiquated font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this business logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Renton, Washington, design include an arc with lines converging with it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs considering that it appears that every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities staggered in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that carried a spirit of serenity and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design that did not go the obvious direction of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo design that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is oftentimes the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the importance on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo style for a software program developer the style functions as well as iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to market their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Renton logo dsign using a graphic that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually produced for an Renton, Washington area farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this business logo was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to design an identity that projects esteem, financial success, and opulence.

Renton Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for outwardly facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the liberty to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo created for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is similar to a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked directly with the owner to produce a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
