Shaw Logo Design

Nearly every new Shaw venture knows they require a logo, but few new business owners fully realize the pivotal role their organization logo will perform in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design functions better than another. A business logo has an instant and lasting impact on the success of a company, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Shaw businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require scrutiny, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Shaw coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an old section of the city and wanted to visualize a vintage feel without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both jobs by means of creating a business logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and germs made for Shaw medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which examines the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that works with the laboratory assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a household fun facility in Shaw.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Shaw travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Shaw logo but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Shaw logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to create their business logo understand how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, however the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Shaw publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most crucial part of a published book given that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems like that in many instances 1 of the items individuals usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Shaw logo design used for advertising as well as a label layout for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Shaw, style include an arc with lines converging with it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dental business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which projected a sense of tranquility and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo design which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is generally the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the attention on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a tiny restaurant, layout contains a changed script typeface which hovers above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo style for a software program designer the design functions as well as iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

Evolve logo style created for a Shaw interior designer, design attribute a collection of red circles that converge as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of words advanced have been modified to connect straight right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell off their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Shaw logo dsign using an illustration that pulls in the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t really developed for an Shaw area farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to produce a brand mark that projects self-confidence, success, and wealth.
Logo developed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is evocative a well-known sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked closely with the proprietor to create a business logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
